Around 3 km west of the holiday complex is the small village of Hjelle on the shores of the turquoise-blue glacial lake Oppstrynsvatnet. There are numerous hiking trails in the area, e.g. to the Øvstefoss waterfall, which cascades over steep rock faces. The historic Segestad mountain farm is a popular excursion destination. It is about an hour's hike from Hjelle. Once at the top, active travellers can enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountain and lake landscape. A small but very nice campsite that has everything you need. Very nice location in a narrow valley by a stream. Camping spots on two levels, free choice of spots, some cabins. Sanitary facilities are very good, one bathroom for people with physical disabilities, as well as two sinks, two showers, and two toilets for the traditional genders. Have I already mentioned the delicious cake selection? Supermarket and charging station for electric cars in immediate vicinity.

Small campsite with 2 grassy areas. One directly by the river, the other a bit higher. Free choice of pitch. Sanitary facilities modern and clean. Price/performance ratio very good. Nice operator. There is a café and pub, with cakes and pizza/burger dishes. Great mountain panorama all around. Rushing river. The nearby road was not disturbing.
