The campsite is located just 24 kilometres from the North Cape on the island of Magerøy. You will camp here in a fascinating, arctic landscape directly by a small lake and with a view of the fjord. With a bit of luck, you can even spot reindeer and rare birds directly on the site.

For caravans and motorhomes, there is an asphalted area in the centre of the campsite, which is particularly clean and stable in damp arctic weather. Tent campers pitch their tents on the surrounding grass areas. From many pitches, you have a great view of the water.

Arrival is straightforward as the site is located directly on the route to the North Cape. You will receive a warm welcome at reception – the team speaks German as well as English. For the arctic conditions, you should pack weatherproof clothing and sturdy pegs for tents.

Directly on the campsite, there is a kiosk and a restaurant for a cosy evening. For larger shopping trips, simply drive 5 kilometres to Honningsvåg, where you will find supermarkets and grocery stores.

Friendly receptionist softens the cold wind

The receptionist first offered me a hot drink, as I arrived frozen from the icy wind on my bicycle at the square. The square is located close to the street, so the sounds of traffic can be heard very clearly. Sanitary facilities and the kitchen are fine, but at full capacity, they are definitely undersized. Negative: Hot water for showering costs from 10 crowns. The ground for camping is grass, but unfortunately, it's hardly possible to find flat areas.
