The only real advantage of this campsite is the beach. However, it has been unusable since 2019. The sea is contaminated with bacteria, and therefore the beach is no longer maintained. There are algae everywhere and it stinks. A shame for the campsite. It is clean and nicely located. The sanitary fa

We were received very kindly, the check-in was super. The grassland is flat and easily accessible. The showers and toilets are clean but could also use some renovation. What surprised us was that the site had many free pitches despite the peak travel season. Unfortunately, the beach is not really su

A very nicely laid out, spacious campsite with direct access to the sea. The sanitary facilities are well-kept and clean. It has been very warm in the last few days, which led to the rotting seaweed on the beach giving off an unpleasant smell that could still be smelled on the site.

Actually a nice place, but currently not usable. The beach is not cleaned by the municipality. The result is an unbearable stench at the site. We were already wondering why the site was hardly full before the Midsummer weekend. The advertised advantages were not present. No beach use possible due to

The place is actually great. Clean and sufficiently many sanitary facilities. Renovated kitchen. Well-stocked shop. Free showers and washing machines available for a fee, but several are present. BUT: the whole beach is covered with seagrass that is rotting and causes a terrible smell. The beach is

The site is spacious and lies directly by the sea. The facility is well-kept, clean, and quiet. I can at least report this for the second half of August, during which the site was only partially occupied.

Large square with direct access to the beach and sea, sheltered by a dune. The individual camping spots are not divided or separated in any way. A large meadow. The sought-after front row by the sea is occupied by permanent campers. Large and clean sanitary buildings, children's bathroom, washing

One of the most beautiful campsites right by the sea in the Halland region is First Camp Björkäng Varberg. Sheltered behind a dune, there are no designated pitches, but plenty of space on a grassy surface. It is therefore advisable to book in advance, as the site is particularly popular in the summer months.
A big plus at First Camp Björkäng Varberg is the marvellous sandy beach right on the doorstep. Campers can take a dip in the cool water or sunbathe right from their caravan or motorhome. There is a wide range of leisure activities on the 10-hectare site. Beach volleyball, a sports programme, minigolf, a windsurfing/kitesurfing school and a bike hire service allow you to plan your days individually. A children's playground and entertainment programme for the youngest guests at First Camp Björkäng Varberg provide the best possible entertainment.
The campsite has its own supermarket where campers can buy all the necessities for daily life. The service centre with its free-to-use oven, vegetable and fish preparation room, potato peeling machine and much more is very popular with campers. The waste disposal station makes it easy to dispose of grey water and fill up with fresh water.
The nearby town of Varberg is definitely worth a visit. The tranquil town is known for its fortress and cold bathhouse (Kallbadhus). The fortress houses the Halland Provincial Museum, where visitors can learn all about the history of the region. In Sweden, Varberg is known as the "shoe town" because it is home to the "Vagabond" brand, among others.
