Great relaxed owners, very well-kept facility, clean sanitation facilities (a bit dated, but absolutely clean and well-maintained), nice and quiet neighbors...Pure relaxation.

I don't know at all why others write so negatively about the campground operators. The exact opposite is the case. Super nice, extremely helpful. And you are absolutely not stalked. Here, you really have your absolute peace and find beautiful nature.

What have these campground operators been doing with the collected funds all these years? The sanitary facilities are a disgrace. This has nothing to do with nostalgia or retro. Here, there is absolutely no privacy when washing and showering. Worse than in a youth hostel from the seventies. I seriously doubt that this is all in order. It actually shows that they have nothing left for their guests, but only care about the money - for themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!

One calls two more times to confirm whether there is really still a permanent space available. They promised several more even. An appointment was made to view these and choose one. Upon arrival, we were received brusquely and coldly by the campsite operator. Unfriendly, she barely made an effort to show us a spot that would become available in October. She didn’t have others - she would have to discuss that first with her husband. But it was exactly with this gentleman that we had actually made an appointment. We find this behavior outrageous, especially since the operators knew that we were traveling from 350 km away. However, after seeing the sanitary facilities, it’s probably good that we didn’t end up there.

Beautiful campsite near the Dümmer Lake. The site is about a 5-minute walk from the swimming area, and the rental accommodations are located partly directly by the water. The facilities are somewhat old, but very clean and sufficiently available. The operators are very nice and helpful. The bread roll service works well and is uncomplicated. The pitches are spacious by request and are separated by hedges. The site feels very personal and is not a sterile mass camping site. Tents, caravans, and motorhomes are mixed together here. Additionally, there is a large meadow for self-caterers (without electricity and water). The Dümmer Lake invites you to swim and hike, the water is clear and quickly becomes pleasantly warm. The Baltic Sea, Lübeck, Wismar, Schwerin, and other beautiful places are easily reachable (by car). Dogs are (unfortunately) not allowed at the swimming area, but they are allowed on the site itself. All dog owners behaved exemplary here, and we barely noticed any dogs. Aside from the lake, almost nothing is reachable on foot from the campsite; you need at least a bicycle (since it's flat land without propulsion). Drinks (e.g., beer and cola) can be purchased on-site in smaller quantities, as well as snacks (e.g., ice cream). There is no proper kiosk or even a supermarket. Conclusion: beautiful site, nice owners, great for relaxing!
