PiNCAMP interview with the campsite manager
Exclusive information you won't find anywhere else.
1- How would you describe the atmosphere at your campsite in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening?
Mornings are peaceful and refreshing, accompanied by birdsong and the sound of the sea. Afternoons are lively and active, filled with swimming, cycling and outdoor adventures. Evenings bring spectacular sunsets and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere perfect for unwinding.
2- Introduce yourself!
Hello, my name is Sanja, and I am the Director of Koversada Park Camping Resort. People are what motivate and inspire me every day. As the Director of Koversada, I believe that happy employees are the foundation of satisfied guests, which is why I place great importance on building a team based on mutual respect, trust, and a positive working atmosphere. I enjoy working closely with people, listening to their ideas, and finding solutions together. My greatest reward is seeing our guests feel welcome and return to Koversada year after year.
3- Is there a local product guests take home as a souvenir?
I enjoy telling guests about the centuries-old olive trees that can be found throughout Koversada. They are a reminder of the area's long history and Mediterranean heritage, and many guests are surprised to learn that some of them are several hundred years old.
4- Is there anything else you want to tell us?
Koversada Covered Campsite is more than a holiday destination, it is a place where guests reconnect with nature, spend quality time with family and friends, and create memories that bring them back year after year.
5- Is there a place where children make new friends especially easily?
The new Maisky Kids Club is where friendships begin. Designed for both mini and junior age groups, it combines indoor and outdoor play areas, creative workshops, performances and evening entertainment led by our dragon mascot Sky. Teenagers also have their own dedicated Game Room, creating a space for every age to connect and have fun.
6- What is the most spectacular accommodation you have on your site?
Our themed Comfort pitches offer a different camping experience. Guests can choose pitches with their own private pavilion and BBQ area, pitches with a private air-conditioned bathroom, or the Maisky Comfort pitches featuring a wooden play camper that turns every family holiday into an adventure for children.
7- What is typical of your campsite, but difficult to explain on photos?
The feeling of being completely immersed in nature. Surrounded by three forest areas, more than 1,300 olive trees and occasional wildlife encounters, guests experience a unique sense of peace and freedom. This feeling becomes even more special during our Olive Tree Picnic, where guests enjoy local food and drinks beneath a centuries-old olive tree in a truly authentic Mediterranean setting
8- What makes your site different and stand out from other campsites nearby?
Koversada offers an exceptional combination of natural treasures rarely found in one place: a unique car-free island, one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in western Istria, three forest areas where deer and hares can often be spotted, and more than 1,300 centuries-old olive trees. It is a destination where nature is not just a backdrop, but part of everyday life.
9- What should guests not miss—even if it’s not mentioned in any travel guide?
Guests should not miss the Olive Tree Picnic, available upon reservation. Set beneath a centuries-old olive tree, surrounded by soft lights and relaxing music, it offers carefully selected food and drinks in a truly magical setting. Combined with a walk through our forests and olive groves at sunset, it becomes one of the most memorable experiences at Koversada.
10- Which encounter between guests has stayed particularly memorable for you?
One of the most memorable encounters for me was meeting a long-time guest who arrived wearing a T-shirt printed with a photo of the mobile home where he always stays. He told me that, years ago, he used to camp on that very spot before the mobile homes were built. Seeing how deeply connected he was to Koversada and hearing the memories he had created here over the years was truly touching.
11- Which regional food or drink should guests absolutely try?
Guests should definitely try Istrian olive oil, fresh seafood, traditional fuži and pljukanci pasta, truffles and a glass of Malvasia, the region's signature white wine.
12- Which spot on your campsite makes guests say “WOW”?
The island of Koversada is undoubtedly our most breathtaking spot. Completely free of vehicles and connected to the mainland by a bridge, it offers a unique opportunity to camp with a tent surrounded only by the sea and untouched nature. Guests are equally amazed by one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the western coast of Istria.
13- Which story do children tell when they are back from holiday?
Children often return home talking about the adventures they had in nature. Many of our activities are inspired by the natural environment, from creative workshops to educational programmes. Together with the memories made at Maisky Kids Club, these experiences become their favourite holiday stories.
14- Which strength of your campsite is often underestimated online?
Photos can show the beaches and facilities, but they rarely capture the feeling of walking through pine forests, discovering centuries-old olive groves, or unexpectedly spotting wildlife such as deer and hares in their natural habitat.

Very nicely laid out site. Pitches are very large, though somewhat uneven, but there are chocks for that. Super new sanitary facilities. The beach is not good for us, as there are only rocks in the water. There are entrances, but one should take the cp Vestar as an example.
