KNAUS Campingpark Walkenried is situated in the middle of the marvellous natural landscape of the southern Harz in a quiet location on the outskirts of Walkenried.
It is only around 1.5 km to the town centre with shopping facilities and a train connection. The Brocken, an impressive excursion destination and the highest peak in the Harz Mountains, is around 38 km away from KNAUS Campingpark Walkenried. Numerous trees surround the pitches on the natural meadow area and offer shade and privacy. A special feature of the campsite is its own indoor swimming pool with a sauna area. The campsite offers a wide range of sports facilities including table tennis, a football pitch, beach volleyball, table football and minigolf. An entertainment programme for children is offered during the holiday season.
The campsite is a good starting point for exploring the South Harz region: Walkenried is home to a famous Cistercian monastery and is located right on the 'Green Belt' - the hiking trail along the former inner German border.

Mainly slightly sloping grassy pitches with a 0.3 hectare pond. Pitches are separated by various trees and bushes, partly gravelled. On the outskirts of the village, by the road.

If I were to arrive with a caravan, the distance from most spots to the washhouse would be too far!

Way too expensive, I almost paid as much for the four days as for a week at Lake Garda and the spot is sunk in mud, paths are not properly paved, too narrow for large motorhomes.

The laundries should have been much cleaner, the staff was very, very friendly and the place is otherwise very nicely located!

Extremely friendly staff. We were even allowed in during the lunch break and then were able to check in.

Ideal for families.
A very well-maintained place. Very nice staff. The rally on the weekend was very hard for kids. It made the kids have a lot of fun. Even in bad weather. Cycling here is fantastic. Thank you very much.
