We stayed in a mobile home called "Orion". The mobile home was very clean and everything looked new. We slept five people in it (3 adults and 2 children). My brother was on the campsite with his family at the same time with a caravan. For breakfast and dinner, they came to our mobile home and brought an extra camping table. This way, we were able to eat together with 10 people (5 adults and 5 children). It was a little cramped, but quite manageable. If we had been just the five of us as planned, we would have really had enough space. We highly recommend it. It is quiet, and the mobile home has a large covered terrace. There's also a swimming pool on the campsite which is great for swimming. We made a fire in the fire pit and in the morning there were fresh rolls. It was five very nice days.

We visited the campsite in Walkenried for the second time; the location in the South Harz is ideal for exploring the area around the Brocken! Due to the cold and wet weather, the entire site was soft and muddy. Generally speaking, everything could use a bit of modernization. Since the beginning of the year, there have been new managers who are trying to gradually address the issues with dedication and care. The activities, including bread baking over the fire and torch hiking, were well organized. Communal barbecue evenings were also held. In bad weather, the swimming pool is perfect for the kids.....
