KNAUS Campingpark Walkenried is situated in the middle of the marvellous natural landscape of the southern Harz in a quiet location on the outskirts of Walkenried.
It is only around 1.5 km to the town centre with shopping facilities and a train connection. The Brocken, an impressive excursion destination and the highest peak in the Harz Mountains, is around 38 km away from KNAUS Campingpark Walkenried. Numerous trees surround the pitches on the natural meadow area and offer shade and privacy. A special feature of the campsite is its own indoor swimming pool with a sauna area. The campsite offers a wide range of sports facilities including table tennis, a football pitch, beach volleyball, table football and minigolf. An entertainment programme for children is offered during the holiday season.
The campsite is a good starting point for exploring the South Harz region: Walkenried is home to a famous Cistercian monastery and is located right on the 'Green Belt' - the hiking trail along the former inner German border.
