KNAUS Campingpark Viechtach

For dog owners, this campsite is fantastic due to the enclosed pitches. The pitches near the dog run are beautifully located. It's great for summer, as there is also shade available. The only slightly annoying thing is the busy main road above, which is quite noisy. Other than that, everything is top-notch.

A very beautiful site, but if you don't take advantage of all the facilities, it can simply be too expensive.

We spent three nights at the campsite. It appeared very untidy. The restaurant at the campsite was also highly advertised, but in reality, it was nothing special. The glasses were dirty and the owner seemed stressed. Our friends had booked a guest room in the upper part of a washroom. It wasn't worth the money. The common area in this house was below standard... However, there were also positive aspects: the toilets, showers, and indoor pool were very clean.

Overall, it’s a great place. Since I was far from the entrance and the play area, I had almost the peace I wanted. The staff is friendly, the sanitary facilities are clean, and everything is quickly accessible. The only negative is that about 100 meters from the campsite there are shepherd dogs that constantly bark. You can always hear them when you wake up in the morning and when you're lying in bed at night; one is always barking all day.

Unfortunately, the site was a bit unkempt, with many "construction sites" (cables and pipes sticking out of the ground, pitches are uneven and filled with gravel. We were unaware before arrival that the sanitary building was closed for renovations, necessitating a reliance on containers instead.

It is nice that the kids have the opportunity to learn how to handle horses.
