Yes, but we had a great spot, and for us, the campsite with its amenities was completely sufficient, and we felt very comfortable. However, the campsite is quite run down; there were some very dilapidated corners, and it seemed that the grounds were very neglected. Internet/Wi-Fi still needs to be invented in the Sauerland, and electricity was also occasionally a problem. The sanitary facilities were functional and clean; we had no significant demands there. We did not check out the swimming pool and the sauna. The small shop had a completely adequate offering, and the restaurant was only open for 3 hours in the evening. There were also several activities available for children. In conclusion, more could be done.

My opinion For short-term vacationers with hiking boots of older models and few expectations of the campsite, it’s acceptable. However, one needs to have good nerves to deal with the sometimes very unfriendly campsite manager. The only highlight is the indoor pool with sauna. But there is no security personnel. The lake is also not recommended due to the algae plague. It is also advised not to paddle on the lake with your own equipment due to the spread of certain mussels. For this offer, it is clearly too expensive. I recommend reading reviews from independent review platforms. Many reviews from Knaus's own providers are circulating online.

A very tidy and clean campsite, children always have fun here. We have been coming here to camp for three years now and have already booked for next year. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay. The Tipi was cozy, and our daughter enjoyed the children's facilities. The staff were very friendly.

Nice spot right by the lake. For camping, you need strong stakes. The ground of the camping area is hard and rocky. Unfortunately, the site lacks some attention. Collapsed rental tents give a neglected impression. There are many great ideas for accommodation, such as Indian tipis, safari tents, wooden cabins, and glamping. Perhaps there are just a bit too many options, and it would be better to focus on one and fully commit to it. Otherwise, you only scratch the surface of each trend.

Fleeing from the heat of the city, the shady pitch in the afternoon was a relief, and swimming in the lake or in the indoor pool also helped us to cool down. Spontaneously booked by phone, we were able to spend 3 relaxing days at the campsite. The swimming pool and sanitary facilities were always clean during our stay. The staff was always friendly, and the range of recreational activities (various free games to borrow or rent SUP or kayaks for a small fee) was extensive. We will definitely come back...

The sanitary facilities are very clean, the Hennesee is too far away, and the pitches are situated very close to each other.
