KNAUS Campingpark Essen-Werden

A great place for a stopover, with clean sanitary facilities.

The pitches are spacious, the location in the greenery (and by the bike path) is perfect, and the staff is very friendly. We cannot assess the sanitation facilities since we did not use them. Everything necessary is present. The restaurant has good food, but the service is slow and unfortunately, they cannot serve wine with the fine dishes.

We were pleasantly surprised by the very friendly welcome and orientation. The plots are spacious, although sometimes a bit confusing due to the paving. The two wash houses are excellent, and the location of the campsite by the Ruhr cycle path is fantastic. The aircraft noise from the nearby airport should not be a bother.

It is actually a place to keep coming back to... if it weren't for the many planes. However, you do get used to it.

The private bathroom was not as shown in the images; it was small and poorly cleaned.

The campsite was very beautiful, quiet, and well-kept. Everything important was very easy to find.

Two remarks regarding water: I understand that water needs to be conserved. However, it is extremely uncomfortable when the water run-time in the showers after pressing the button lasts only a few seconds. This makes it nearly impossible to shower properly, practically only using one hand. Meanwhile, outside, the permanent campers and landscape gardeners are watering the green areas as if there were no tomorrow. For a rather expensive campsite, I also expect to have access to a water tap either directly at the pitch or at least shared for 4-6 plots. Bringing a 50m hose reel in a motorhome is quite unusual, and dragging along X watering cans isn't a feasible solution either.
