Super child-friendly

We felt very comfortable at the campsite. It is beautifully arranged with many playgrounds, a paradise for children. A major downside were the sanitary facilities. There are definitely worse but also significantly better ones. Well intended is not always well done. There are children's toilets, which are not really much lower than normal toilets. For that, the adult toilets are super high. A children's sink would have been great for the children's toilets... unfortunately, there isn't one... and to find a stool for that, you have to go to the showers, where there are many sinks with stools. There are always two family bathrooms. Either we were unlucky, and our fellow campers didn't know how to use a toilet brush or/and the cleaning staff only rarely appeared (outside of the season). It often smelled like urine there because the flushes didn't work properly. When you have your own wet cell, the campsite is a dream 🤩

Very nature-oriented child-friendly and dog-friendly campsite

Special request trailer (purchased at short notice) was declined by phone. The campsite is very spacious, well-maintained, and friendly (doesn't match the first phone call). Extensive dunes, our dog felt very comfortable, always had to be leashed officially. The toilets and showers are super clean and really warm with fresh air. The little shop is very small; fortunately, Castricum is not too far away. All in all, a top short vacation.

Campsite that, due to its location, offers many places to visit
Superb10

This campsite was super clean and natural. Sanitary facilities are regularly cleaned. The constructed circular path offers good possibilities for dog owners to take their dogs for a walk, and there was also a station with bags for dog poop. The large playground is particularly busy on weekends. We personally found the restaurant's opening hours until 8 PM very early! It takes a good hour to reach the beach on foot through the dunes. There is a cycle path to the beach. Due to the good location, you can easily reach various attractions such as Haarlem, Amsterdam, and Alkmaar. It is also very easy to go to Amsterdam by train. We set off from Castricum, which has a large Park & Ride parking lot. Traveling by train with dogs is no problem. We would definitely visit this campsite again.

An Adventure in the Sand for Young and Old

We spent two weeks here during the summer vacation and were thrilled. The diverse play and discovery opportunities were always a great activity for our children (7 and 3). Despite the size of the area, we had great peace in our corner. Ideal for cycling tours in the dunes and in the forest. Definitely prepare for sand! We sunk in... The nearest beach is not for dogs during the day in summer. With a dog, you have to drive about 15 minutes to one of the nearest beaches.

Great, quiet campsite

Just had a great camping spot with a dog. Located directly in the woods, it invites biking tours. The beach was hardly visited as it is only accessible on foot or by bike. Sanitary facilities are very good and especially clean.

Camping De Lakens
Superb10
Tamara
One of the most beautiful campsites, just a few minutes from the beach. The sanitary facilities are all new and clean. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The campsite offers a lot for families with children and couples. Moreover, the price-performance ratio is just right. Always happy to come back!

A great place. Superbly located in the middle of the nature reserve. Sanitary facilities clean and spacious. Beach accessible on foot. Walking distance about 10-15 min. Supermarket well-stocked. Free wifi available for free at the reception. Bus connection to Haarlem, Zandvoort available. From Haarlem by train to Amsterdam. The beach promenade has a disco and some restaurants. Restaurant also on the campsite. We will come back next year.
