A Great Place to Relax or Starting Point for Excursions
A great, well-maintained, and quiet place. Not too large, absolutely ideal for those seeking peace. Very friendly staff, sanitary facilities clean. Everything you need is there. Dunes and the village are both reachable by foot, good shopping opportunities.

Simple Campsite
Camping has not much to offer. Grass not nice anymore, few toilets and no wastewater station. At least the location is good. For what it offers, it is too expensive.

Family-friendly campsite
Friendly staff at the reception, the campsite is clean, good sanitary facilities; nearby (about 10 minutes on foot), good shopping opportunities nearby; beach nearby; great cycling network well organized, plenty of space available

Simply TOP!!!
A very nice place, small and very clean. Generous plots. Very friendly and helpful staff. I have been there several times and will definitely go back!!!

The place is very quiet; those looking for a shaded spot should choose spots 5 or 6 as these places have shade in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We had one of those. Located on the Dutch island of Texel, Texelcamping De Shelter sets high standards in terms of comfort and facilities. The excellent location in the immediate vicinity of a fine sandy beach is also ideal for a varied swimming and relaxation holiday.
Luxurious campsite close to the beach
There are 70 pitches for holidaymakers on the approximately 1.1 hectare campsite. The pitches are each around 100 m² in size, so you can be undisturbed and on your own. The extensive facilities, including electricity, free Wi-Fi, a launderette and modern sanitary facilities, ensure a comfortable stay. The site is dog-friendly and also has a playground for the little ones. However, the short distance to the coast is particularly popular with young and old alike. The nearest stretch of beach is just 1 kilometre away, so you can spend a few relaxing hours on the beautiful North Sea without any detours. As on the Dutch mainland, an extensive cycle tour is one of the most popular leisure activities on the island of Texel. The island's flat terrain and extensive network of over 140 kilometres of cycle paths are ideal for excursions on two wheels. If you don't have your own bike, you can hire one at the campsite. In addition to a selection of restaurants, there is also a large supermarket in De Koog, just 2 kilometres away. A particularly popular alternative excursion for families is an informative visit to the Ecomare leisure park, which is just a short distance from the campsite, or the beach collectors' museum.
