Insel-Camping-Borkum

The island campsite Borkum is an aging campsite. There are playgrounds available, and what we liked was that the place is hardly accessed by cars, only for arrival and departure. We stayed in a nice new rental caravan. What was difficult was that the campsite only accepts cash: kiosk, restaurant... and the sanitary facilities were disgustingly dirty. Black sludge in the drains, flies in the children's shower, rusty fixtures. That was really disgusting. And this has nothing to do with a full campground during the summer holidays. It is a fundamental problem.

We were there for the first time. And it definitely won't be the last time. We will gladly come back! Even though we arrived spontaneously and the place was nearly full, we were warmly welcomed and taken care of. Highly recommended for campers with dogs!

An exceptionally great campsite - both the staff and the other guests were very nice and helped us, as camping beginners, with advice and assistance. The washrooms, toilets, and showers were always clean and never overflowing, and the small mini-market offers an excellent selection for its size.

Very friendly staff at the reception. The entire campsite is excellently organized. There are plenty of toilets and showers that we found clean at all times. The surroundings can be wonderfully explored by bicycle, and there are bike rentals in Borkum like sand by the sea… Practically all imaginable types of bicycles are available!

The regular cleaning of the sanitary facilities was good. Otherwise, everything is aging and needs renovation. The playgrounds would be immediately closed in our city due to the risk of injury. The pictures of the place found on the internet unfortunately do not reflect the current state. In conversations with other guests, our opinion was confirmed. Many knew the place from before and were "surprised" by the current condition. We will not return. However, this does not seem to be important to the staff or operator. Upon arrival, there was no welcome greeting - upon departure, no inquiry if we felt well or anything similar.

Campsite with an incredibly great location – everything is close by. Very well-maintained facility in good condition – no trash!!! It was nice to be with you again! And Borkum is definitely the best German island!

We camped there for the first time and we felt very comfortable. A great place right in front of the dune chain in a quiet location. The washrooms were always clean and very well maintained. It is also worth mentioning the washing machines and dryers, which we did not expect – very practical if you cannot take too much luggage with you. We will gladly come back! See you next year – but then in August!
