Camping Lac des Vielles Forges

Miserable condition of the sanitary facilities: dirty, not even cleaned in the morning. Reception at the front desk did not seem very accommodating. Access to the lake from the campsite is across a public road and a public parking lot for day visitors. The lake itself is quite nice, with a beach and a supervised bathing area, but overcrowded.

The campsite is beautifully situated with pitches partially shaded by large trees (when we were there for 2 nights, the temperature was well above 30 degrees). This made it very pleasant. Everything else was mediocre, the sanitary facilities were, to put it mildly, a disaster. Showers, toilets, and the washing area were in very poor condition. No hot water for flushing! Gastronomy also very limited. The bathing beach was heavily populated by day visitors. Animation was more for children. - We will not visit the site again. - Two stars only because of the nice shaded pitch!

A beautifully located campsite. Situated on a slope with plenty of shade and individual plots. Arrival is somewhat chaotic, as there are hardly any parking spaces available and the bathers at the lake park everything. The sanitary facilities are rather a disaster: lukewarm to cold water, almost all lights do not work, so you would have to use a headlamp to shower. Defective showers... You don’t get the impression that someone cares about the condition. The playgrounds on the site are partly just a single climbing frame. Target group is more like 5+. No swings or slides available. The lake itself is great with wonderful sand, snacks, and easily accessible.

The campsite is situated very nicely above a large bathing lake. The area is spacious, and the prices are fair. The sanitary facilities are not the cleanest but were okay. The plots are generously sized and separated by dense hedges, providing privacy. Right by the beach, there is a large parking lot for bathers, as well as entertainment and a bar. This makes for quite a lively atmosphere in the evenings, and younger campers did not always find their way to sleep quietly at night. The noise carries up to the higher pitches, which are wonderfully located right by the forest.
