Camping Grüntensee

Nestled in the idyllic mountain landscape of the Allgäu Alps, Camping Grüntensee on the recreational lake of the same name near Wertach is the perfect place for active holidaymakers and swimming fans. Family-friendly campsite by the leisure lake

The family-friendly Grüntensee campsite is situated in an idyllic location on the Grüntensee opposite the mountain ridge of the same name. The terraced meadow area is interspersed with tall trees and shrubs and offers 180 pitches, 140 of which are parcelled out. There are 150 pitches for permanent campers. In addition, cosy holiday flats and flats for 4-6 people as well as original Estonian wooden igloos are available to rent for a special camping experience. There are separate motorhome pitches by the torrent for caravans, some of which have an electricity connection on site, fresh water supply and satellite connection. The modern sanitary facilities are child-friendly and offer family showers, a baby changing room and a barrier-free bathroom. There is also a large washing-up area. The restaurant with a large sun terrace and a self-service supermarket for daily necessities and fresh bread rolls cater for your physical well-being. Dog owners are very welcome. There is even a dog shower on the site for four-legged companions. Winter campers can use the ski drying room on the site and take the ski bus to the nearby ski areas. WLAN is available throughout the site.

Wide range of leisure activities for active holidaymakers and beach fans

Camping holidays at Grüntensee are never boring. Children can let off steam in the large playground and are looked after by the professional entertainment team. Older children can meet up with new friends in the youth centre. Meanwhile, parents can relax in the sauna or unwind by the lake. A short path leads to the beach, and a bathing jetty with a ladder makes it easy to get into the water. Here you can enjoy swimming, sailing, surfing and fishing. The large sunbathing lawn invites you to play and relax in the sun. Sporty campers also get their money's worth: the campsite has a large sports area with a fitness room, a football pitch and a boat hire service for pedal boats and SuP equipment. In summer, yoga courses are offered directly on the lakeshore. In winter, a dense network of cross-country ski trails and the alpine lift right next to the campsite await winter sports enthusiasts. The barbecue area by the lake is a great place to round off a successful day in the Allgäu.

Excursions around Camping Grüntensee

There is plenty to see in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. There is a 12 km circular trail around the lake. Buron and the 1542 m high Reutterwanne promise summit happiness on family-friendly hiking trails. There is also a wide network of cycling and hiking trails and Nordic walking routes, a climbing forest on the opposite shore of the lake and several golf courses. The nearby town of Kempten is perfect for a city trip. The fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein is also well worth a visit. Llama trekking near Nesselwang is great fun for children. In the cold winter months, the surrounding area is ideal for tobogganing, cross-country skiing and ice skating on the lake.
