Unfortunately, it does not meet 4-star standards. Overall, one must criticize the lack of maintenance of the site. In the 'front' of the campsite, the sanitary facilities are still acceptable at 3 stars, while in the 'back' part, it is definitely a maximum of 2 stars. The pitches are overall not well-maintained.

Pros

The campsite is well-equipped and clean. We really enjoyed the pool; the water was pleasant. The evening meal at the snack bar was also good. On the evening we were there, there was a quiz and karaoke. The atmosphere was enjoyable. Emplacement/Hébergement locatif: Handy grassy area for pitching the tent.

Cons

Emplacement/Hébergement locatif: Our tent pitch for one night was in full sun while the campsite was not full. We found this unfortunate. It would have been nice to have a wooden table (even shared) for us cyclists.

Pros

The location on an island in the Loire is special, and the surrounding area is lovely. You can easily walk into the city of Saumur. It's a shame about the extremely dilapidated old swimming pool. Emplacement/Hébergement locatif: Spacious spot under the trees, wonderful! Water tap at the site, which is nice.

Cons

More toilets in the toilet building would be desirable, and the washing machine is old. Emplacement/Hébergement locatif: Place number signs are missing and the layout is illogical. Many searching people drive or walk past.

Lovely location easy to walk into Saumur and drive to other places Pitch/rental accommodation: Pitches were a good size surrounding trees gave shade and made the area feel nice Washrooms and pot wash were kept very clean by polite staff

Tell customers if they wish to eat at the restaurant they need to book a table Pitch/rental accommodation: Not having toilet seats I understand the French apparently do this and it must be easier to clean but it isn’t pleasant Mixed sex toilets and showers

Warm welcome and the hostess gave very good advice, no need to go to the tourist office. We appreciated the shaded location near the sanitary facilities and the small kitchen with the picnic table provided. Location/Rental accommodation: The fully equipped kitchen is available for campers in tents. The pitch is very shaded. The proximity to the sanitary facilities.

Cons

The picnic table at the kitchen area needs to be changed or re-screwed as it is a bit wobbly... Location/Rental accommodation: Small drawback, the birds pooped on our tent (5 huge stains in 1 night...)
