What campers are saying

Summarized by AI

The campsite scores with its great location right on the swimming lake and a huge, varied range of leisure activities for children, including pony riding. Families and dog owners feel completely at home here. Good to know for the trip: Anyone heading there should be prepared for an overall rather dated, unkempt site and sanitary facilities in need of renovation.

Completely awful. Stay away!!!!

Absolutely terrible! The "pool" was located in a rundown backyard among junk and trash containers, the recreational activities were mostly closed, and the playgrounds consisted of plastic slides. There were broken windows in the "indoor sandbox", and the ponies were standing in their own waste... We had booked for a week, but we fled after one night. The review was deleted by Google. Dirty, broken, no child-friendly sanitary facilities....

Never Again!

NEVER AGAIN!!! We visited this campsite for the first time and were disappointed like never before. This place is the absolute hell. I have never seen such a desolate state of a campsite. Trash on every corner, dog poop, no functioning showers in the sanitary facilities, and only one warm shower for the ladies. At the beach and along the sidewalks, there are socks, trash, and so much more lying around. We had no idea what awaited us, as the website is not even close to the reality we encountered. We would have liked to leave immediately on the day of arrival. When we requested to speak with the owner, he didn't even consider it necessary to step out of his filthy bar, literally telling my husband: "You won't get a cent from me, you either stay or... screw off." Thank you very much.

Good online presence but disappointing

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this campsite. On the positive side, there is the lake with a beach and water slide, as well as the always friendly and attentive staff. However, the entire site appears to be quite old and poorly maintained. The sanitary facilities, especially the showers, had an unpleasant smell. The water and sewage connections at the pitches were inadequate. The management/kiosk and many permanent camper sites look rundown, with old or dilapidated objects scattered everywhere. The quiet hours were not respected, despite the rules, until about 1 AM. The playground resembles a collection of plastic play equipment rather than a nice family playground. It was particularly bothersome to find dog droppings on our pitch and to see horses bathing in the swimming lake, leaving their waste behind. Overall, the site lacks cleanliness, maintenance, and consistent enforcement of its own rules.

We come here every summer. The recreational offerings are unmatched in Germany, simply top-notch. All activities are free of charge. The staff is very dedicated and friendly. Beautifully located in nature, the swimming lake is fantastic. This is a campsite absolutely suitable for children of all ages. The sanitary facilities are cleaned three times a day. If anyone complains about dirt here, they should talk to all the campers, because they are the ones who do not clean up their mess. This place is run with heart and soul, you feel well taken care of. We will happily return to this place every year.

Once in Haselünne - never again in Haselünne

Once in Haselünne - never again in Haselünne. The horses were undoubtedly the highlight, but everything else urgently needs renovation. Dirty permanent camping spots, foul-smelling toilets in the ladies’ showers, no kiosk that can rightfully be called such, a pub you only know from outdated films, which was also hardly open. Added to this were sandy, dirty spots and especially the riding program during the week was a joke. The kids were allowed to fetch the animals from the pasture, ride for 30 minutes at a walk, and that was it. The Shetland ponies were kept in horrendous muck, and the goose droppings by the lake were the highlight of 4 days of diarrhea for our dog. Sorry, this was not good. What a pity, we drove 500 km just for this.

For me, this campsite is among the worst facilities I have ever experienced. After booking, we were transferred to the "Naturplatz", which felt like an overbooking to me. The place had more of a festival atmosphere than family camping: a lot of alcohol, loud groups until late at night, and no control over the night quiet. I see the safety and fire protection situation as particularly critical. I work in fire safety myself and had the impression that basic requirements were not adequately implemented. In my view, there were insufficient fire safety measures, and the distances between caravans and tents were sometimes far too small. A fire outbreak would be realistic in case of an emergency. The sanitary situation was also inadequate: for the large number of guests, there was only one sanitary container. Those who value safety and relaxation should consider alternatives.

Beautiful Place! Especially Suitable for Children

The location is great for children. The offerings are very diverse. What we didn't like at all was our accommodation. We had booked a holiday home. According to the internet, it looked fantastic. Unfortunately, we received an old bungalow. Heating was only possible with a catalytic stove. Great for dogs and children. Due to the lack of a chimney and smoke detector, we did not heat at night. The sink had a loose faucet, the shower was great and also spacious. However, there is no possibility to hang wet towels. The seating / dining area in the kitchen consisted of lounge furniture without cushions. Super comfortable. We reported the deficiencies (there were more small issues) verbally on the first day, then in writing. Upon departure, I was told in response to inquiries that the craftsmen had been there the day before, but we were not there. Sorry, on vacation, I do not just stay in the house. We would gladly return but only with our own caravan.

A lovely campsite, especially for children. Although the sanitary facilities are not modern, they are clean. The kids play all day throughout the area, and the staff is very nice and helpful. Registering for pony riding is somewhat time-consuming, but it's fine. Payments are now mostly cashless. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
