Falkensteiner Camping Zadar

The overall impression of the campsite was very positive. Notable highlights include the great location as well as the short distances to the beach, town, and restaurants. The plots are spacious, with many providing pleasant shade. Additionally, the traffic-calmed design with several cul-de-sacs contributes to a quieter atmosphere. The cleaning team is always striving to keep the sanitary facilities and the entire site clean, which they generally achieve very well. It should be noted that cleanliness also depends on the behavior of guests, and not every instance of litter can be addressed immediately. Less positive were some experiences regarding the behavior of a few fellow guests. However, this does not pertain to the campsite itself and is unfortunately an issue that can occur anywhere. Overall, we can recommend the campsite.

Great location. The pitches are very spacious. Short walks to the washroom and the beach. It takes 15 minutes by bike to reach Zadar. What we missed were a thermometer, a clock, and a herb garden on the premises.

A very nice, well-structured campsite. The washrooms are thoughtfully designed, sufficiently available, and child-friendly. (To keep them clean, you must also contribute.) The food at the restaurant is very good, serving large portions and the prices reflect that. Swimming in the sea is very enjoyable. However, biking is much better in other areas.

We were there at the end of October for 2 nights. The sanitary facilities were very clean and spacious. No moldy joints. No rusty radiators. The staff were always very friendly. We felt very comfortable from the very first second. Wi-Fi reception was great. 5G was also abundantly available. The dining was very inviting and the food was top-notch! For the beach area, there were these rubber wristbands (and not, as other reviews before us said, with these ec-cards). There were always many rubbish bins at the edge of the campsite. This meant always short distances. We will definitely come back!

So the 5-star premium needs to be explained to me. This place doesn't even have its own beach, you go through a fence to a crowded public beach. The allocation of pitches with the Acsi Card is done randomly and varies depending on the staff member handling it. Too bad, I expected more.

Noise at the campsite is unbearable due to motorcycles and wannabe racers. Rusty radiators and the rest is all somehow rotting. Price level is at an all-time high. We know many 5-star campsites, but this one deserves at most 3 stars.

Top campsite with good infrastructure. Many restaurants nearby. City center easily reachable by public transport or water taxi. Friendly and helpful staff. Loungers and umbrellas were included (we had Gold category). Even though the beach was public, there was plenty of space. At our pitch, there was a tree stump, which made us a bit inventive when setting up the tent.

Compared to last year, the camping site has significantly declined. - Mold in the women's shower area - Shower heads/hoses leaking. - Air conditioning (men) with open window -> Windows cannot generally be opened/closed - cheap material - Cleaning, you are literally thrown out while using - Soap dispensers are not checked daily... - Sites are no longer maintained, overgrown. - Sites - No more wristbands, just check cards which is really crappy for the door to the beach. However, wristbands are only available for mobile homes. Crap!!! - Refrigerator/freezer malfunctioning. They can't do anything about that, but the camping visitors are becoming dirtier, throwing trash everywhere, not wiping down... I really wonder why the ADAC gave 5 stars here - were they bribed?
