The location of the campsite is unique due to its proximity to the sea. However, you must be able to handle pines and their falling needles. In rainy weather, it is very difficult to keep the camper clean. But you know what you book. When choosing a pitch, you should pay attention to being a bit further from the beach accesses; otherwise, it gets noisier from disrespectful and inconsiderate tourists who like to stare into the tent. Karlhagen is not really nice. Otherwise, it’s a good place with good service, and you cannot be closer to the Baltic Sea. Bad wifi, poor reception with Telekom and Vodafone.

I have never experienced anything like it. So unfriendly, inappropriate. This was not a pitch that was assigned to us, it was more like a bad parking spot. They couldn’t even help us with a cable since our 25 meters were not enough to reach the power box. No water connection at the site. These are not 5 stars, the ADAC should reassess the stars. Sorry, but like this, we left straight away.

For about 14 days I have been trying to reach the site several times a day, in vain. My booking request has been pending for 6 days. No response, despite reminders. The place is very beautiful, the facilities are too. We were there in 2023 by bike and wanted to go camping there now. A likely hopeless endeavor. I have read it is supposed to be a municipal enterprise, it fits into the overall image of this state, where almost nothing works anymore.

Sanitary facilities, location, good campsite, nice staff

Sanitary facilities are okay. Parking spaces are not separated and relatively small. Direct access to the sandy beach. The town of Karlshagen is in close proximity.

We go to the dune camp more often during the year and are very satisfied. Nice and friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities, and a family bathroom. There is a kitchen that can be used free of charge. 4 ovens + hot plates, plus microwaves. We keep coming back.

Last year we took advantage of the autumn special and were satisfied. Everyone was very nice, many campers come every year, but all are okay. The restaurant on site is fine, but it’s more of a snack bar. However, there is enough within walking distance. The location of the site in the pine forest is great, but the caravan was very dirty afterwards. The sanitary facilities were always very clean, and the washing machines and dryers were all top notch. It was a pity that the baker was only open until early September, but Edeka with a bakery is not too far away. The beach at this site is, according to locals, the most beautiful on Usedom, which I can only confirm. Satellite reception is only very limited, but you can add cable TV.

Great base! Despite a short notice (2 days in advance), we got a parking spot for a weekend here. The site is located in a small forest, separated from the Baltic Sea by a dune. Private beach access at the site. The site is dominated by permanent campers, is very clean and tidy. The sanitary facilities look brand new, are well-maintained and clean. Regular cleaning. We were surprised that you do not bring your caravan to the parking spot yourself; a "shuttle service" via tractor takes care of that. Any car would be lost in the sand... 2 nights, caravan & awning & tent, 2 adults 2 teenagers with visitor's tax approx. €125.00. So far, so good; it was the only place out of 15 inquiries that still had capacity at that time. Shopping options reachable by bike/car in 5-10 minutes (Edeka, Penny, Netto).
