DCU-Camping København – Absalon

Very dirty campsite sanitary facilities. We stayed there for 3 days, and during those 3 days, the same pubic hair and caked-on urine residue were found in the men's urinals. The stench in the showers of the baths is also terrible. Recommended if you do not want to use the sanitary facilities, as the location for visiting the city is great.

Well-located campsite, about 10 km from the city center of Copenhagen. Easily accessible by bike. Highway within earshot. However, the water supply in the showers is more than inadequate, as very little water flows. No matter the time of day or occupancy.

After all the bad reviews, we were positively surprised. There are too few toilets and showers – that’s true! Even at Msi, I had to stand in line. But the atmosphere is good, the pitches are spacious, and the access to downtown by bike is excellent. At night it was quiet and there are 2 supermarkets down the street.

The sanitary facilities are always warm and heated, the toilets and showers are regularly cleaned, although there is indeed a slight musty smell. Overall, the condition is good. Most importantly, hot water is available at all times, with plenty of toilets and a separate number of showers and washbasins. The kitchens are very well equipped for cooking and washing dishes. There is a large playground available in the outdoor area. Waste disposal is not set up for recycling, but rubbish can be disposed of in bags without disturbing the visitors. The pitches are generously sized and well-maintained, with no litter around and regular mowing of the grass. Barriers restrict access for outsiders. We were able to reach the city center daily by bike. The noises from the nearby motorway are to be expected.

The pitches are sufficiently large. Fresh rolls and groceries for daily needs available in the shop. But: The few showers are a disaster and unacceptable. Mold on the walls, fixtures, and floor. Not only visible - you can smell it immediately upon entering the shower. This wasn't mold that just appeared in the last few days. When my shower curtain fell on the floor, I saw upon picking it up the floor of the neighboring shower. It was completely covered in mold. Moreover, the water temperature is not adjustable and the shower time is set extremely short. An insult for the price - not recommended.

Good place, but the sanitary area is subpar.

We really enjoyed this campsite! The staff at the reception and in the small shop were very friendly and the service house was very clean. We stayed here for three nights to explore the city and then continue on toward Norway.

The campsite is very well maintained and well laid out. Good straight pitches. Not too close together and plenty of space. We visited the city by bike, which is quite easy due to the good bike paths. Copenhagen is a cycling city. We were warned at check-in that e-bikes are often stolen. We have regular bikes and secured them well. The sanitary facilities are a bit older, but they were very clean. Overall, a good place in my opinion. You can hear some traffic from the highway.
