Nice dog beach with free sun loungers and umbrellas. The sanitary facilities are too small during the peak season (you have to queue for the toilet or shower). The shop is overpriced. It’s better to shop outside the campsite. Quiet hours are not respected. We had a pitch near the pool. Instead of being open from 9 to 19, it was open from about 8 to 21:15, which subjected us to constant loud music. The palm trees, etc. are nice, but they don't make up for the rest.

We have been here many times with our children, my mother, and our dogs. It always brings us much joy. Everything is always clean, and they are consistently working on improving the campsite. The beach is beautiful, and the heated bathrooms are great as well. There is a freshwater pool and a saltwater pool.

Directly on Lake Maggiore, quiet, no street noise, parking spots by the lake are full on weekends, quiet during the week. Tessin ticket included for ÖVM, close to the train station and shopping center.

Beautiful campsite, but...

Beautiful campsite, but... ...very unfriendly, arrogant staff at the reception ...on the phone, you are treated very rudely and without greeting ...expensive ...small pitches ...electricity costs extra ...even though dogs are allowed, they are probably not really welcome (very small, dirty dog beach with a broken water pipe that poses a risk of injury) The palm trees and decorations at Miralago impress me far less than many other campsites in Ticino with friendly and customer-oriented staff.

Really great camping. Very good location for excursions. Clean, completely new sanitary facilities, super shower with rain shower and spray, washing machines and dryers up to date. Excellent for kids, swimming at the campsite's own beach. Very good restaurant with Ticino cuisine and Ticino wine. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Unfortunately, we as a family had bad experiences at this campsite. The staff was extremely unfriendly. The peak moment was our booked late checkout. At 11 am (the normal departure time), the head of the campsite stood with an employee on our pitch and very unfriendly pointed out that we should leave immediately. When we said that we had booked a late checkout, he did not believe us. While my husband went to get the confirmation (luckily we had received it by email), he insulted us and continued to verbally abuse us. Upon showing the documents, he turned around and left without a word.

Dog-friendly palm oasis directly on Lake Maggiore

Those who seek peace and relaxation will definitely find it here at the beautiful Miralago campsite. It exudes a Caribbean atmosphere with its hundreds of magnificent palm trees 🌴🌴🌴🌴 and the southern climate of Lake Maggiore. Dog lovers feel very welcome with their four-legged friends at the campsite! What is also very nice and practical is the boat, which is reachable in just 3 minutes on foot, and takes you to Locarno in only 15 minutes. And with the included Ticino ticket, it's even free!!

Best place we have been to so far

We were alone this year at 4 5-star campsites, but I have to say that this place, although it doesn't have 5 stars, was the best of all. The sanitary facilities were always clean and were cleaned several times a day. The campsites are nicely laid out, and a lot of attention was paid to details. The pool and the rental of SUPs and canoes are already included, which puts the price into perspective. The rolls were sold out quickly (at least our types), but it wasn't a problem as there is a Coop just 5 minutes away (by bike) that has many baked goods. The recreational offerings are great. It felt like there were a lot of dogs (unfortunately).

4.5-star campsite with beach and pool
Lake Maggiore on the border between Switzerland and Italy is a true natural paradise. Situated on the northern shore in the canton of Ticino, Miralago Camping & Beachresort is an Eldorado for bathing beauties with its location right on the shore. Palm trees create an almost Caribbean flair on the approximately 1.5-hectare site. Self-catering guests can buy organic produce in the small shop. The Al Fienile restaurant also caters for your culinary needs. Four-legged guests are very welcome at the pet-friendly campsite. They have their own dog playground and beach. Families look forward to the well-maintained beach, where the youngest children can play carefree in a sandy section. The large sunbathing lawn is shaded by tall trees. Those who want to relax to their heart's content can retreat to the saltwater pool with hydromassage jets. There is also a separate, heated pool for cooling off. Water rats can also look forward to a wide range of sports activities in the cool water. You have the opportunity to try out the trendy sport of stand-up paddling or hire canoes. Guests can also compete on the beach volleyball and football pitch. The trampoline is a favourite attraction for the youngest guests. During the summer months, a fun entertainment programme for children and adults offers the opportunity to make new friends.
