Our 2nd campsite on our tour. Not much going on at this time. We had a great spot right by the dunes and on the path to the beach. However, it could be quite busy here during the high season. At the beach, you go left past the bunkers to Grenen and to the right you go to Skagen. If you like walking on the beach, there are great paths, but towards Grenen there is a stretch of gravel beach. That was a bit more challenging, the dogs didn’t think it was that great. However, you can also detour (along the road) or there is a parking lot nearby (behind the lighthouse). We stayed here for one night, in the off-season. But we claim that all campers participate, keeping the campsite, sanitary facilities, and service areas clean even in the high season! The spot is a bit more expensive, but that is normal in special places with some attractions around 🙂

Sanitary facilities good, pitches bad and misleading on the site plan. Especially the barking four-legged friends felt more than campers. Additionally, there was a moped meeting with deafening noise. We, after being asked in a very impolite tone to move our camper, broke off and switched back to our favorite spot Poul Eeg.

Not suitable for motorhomes over 5 meters.

The plots are of different sizes, for a 7-meter camper 2 plots must be booked. The price of 65.00 euros per night is pure rip-off and not justified. The beach: little beach, many bunkers... is not for everyone.

September 2023

Were there for 4 nights and felt comfortable. Lots of green, spots of varying sizes, new and well-maintained unisex sanitary facilities, friendly reception, bread roll service. Kitchen/dishwashing/eating areas available in a closed/cozy space. Sanitary cleaning from 11-1 PM, toilet available as an alternative. Occasionally, a smell of fish or whatever drifts through the area.

We really liked it

March 2023

Our 1st tour with a rented camper van over several campsites, Nordstrand, and then across West Denmark. Just to note, in mid-April 2023, the sites were all still mostly empty. Yes, why is no one clearing away the bunkers on the beach... I could laugh myself to death if someone criticizes the existing bunkers, which represent a museum and belong to Denmark's history, and if it is also criticized by a German... Sorry, the little side jab had to be made. The 2nd site that we really liked throughout our entire tour. Okay, we don't know what it's like there during the high season, but during our stay everything was great, very clean and well-maintained sanitary facilities, very nice staff who are also willing to chat a little, the space for our camper van was completely sufficient for us, great and interesting surroundings. All in all, we found it so good that the next visit is already planned.

Great Location

Very friendly reception, the facility is very well maintained. The sanitary facilities are quite new and clean. The pitches are sufficiently large (enough for a caravan, awning, and car). The location in the dunes and close to the city is great. We felt very comfortable here and stayed longer than planned (10 days). We will definitely come back!

Cosiness and closeness to nature characterise the comfortable First Camp Grenen Strand - Skagen. The excellent location at the northernmost tip of Denmark with direct access to the beach and the child-friendly atmosphere on the site ensure a varied holiday with the whole family.

3-star campsite right on the idyllic sandy beach

The approximately 5.3-hectare campsite offers holidaymakers 250 parceled-out pitches ranging in size from 50 to 100 square metres. Some of the pitches on the dog-friendly campsite are separated by hedges and fences, so that campers can enjoy some privacy. In addition to electricity and water connections, several sanitary buildings and washing facilities, the Wi-Fi connection throughout the site ensures a comfortable stay. The playground offers fun and games for young guests. Of course, the directly accessible sandy beach is one of the campsite's highlights for young and old alike. Here, holidaymakers can unwind with a long walk along the seemingly endless coastline or a refreshing dip in the sea. Alternatively, take a ride on the Sandormen, a traditional tractor train that travels at a leisurely pace to the picturesque beach landscapes of the region. Sports enthusiasts will find opportunities for exercise at the nearby windsurfing school and on the golf course 10 kilometres away. If the weather is not so good, we recommend a trip to the centre of Skagen, just 2 km away. The tranquil harbour town offers a wide range of shopping opportunities, cosy cafés and a number of small museums that are well worth a visit.
