Campsite with a great location, that was it. Sanitary facilities VERY dirty, no toilet paper. No possibility to dry hands. Price performance is okay, but I wouldn't want to experience that in summer.

The first and last time! Loud music in the restaurant until late at night. A brief notice that it could get loud due to a private party would have been nice. The next morning, when we kindly pointed this out, we were immediately insulted in a derogatory manner by the owner/tenant, whatever. There is absolutely no friendliness to be found. We are not sensitive; we've experienced many things, but the treatment of the paying guests is an imposition. After the first reaction, we refrained from mentioning the restroom facilities, etc., as it seems no value is placed on customer satisfaction here.

Dirty, unfriendly, loveless

June 2023

The sanitary area looked just as grimy at 9:00 AM as it did the evening before. Hair, soap residues, toilet paper, corroded shower heads, limescale in the urinals. Everything somehow looks as if it was done only temporarily or the work is not yet finished. The caretaker also doesn't seem really motivated. When I asked for a receipt for my payment, he said I already had the invoice?????? The lady with the nice voice and friendly approach did not personally meet me.

We were there with the motorhome. The pitches are divided by poorly visible flat gabions and vary in size. On some pitches, it is even not possible to properly set up the awning. The cassette disposal is dirty. The ground inlet is unusable as there are only very small holes in a similarly small metal channel. I don't want to imagine what happens when someone empties their black water tank there. 🤬 All in all, everything fits together: dirty sanitary facilities, unkempt pitches, garbage containers overflowing and stinking, unfriendly site manager, no assistance, 'gastronomy' serving food from snack stalls, loud music until late at night. And roll service? It has to do with 'service' and is thus a foreign word. Conclusion: go somewhere else!

The only good thing: the location

May 2023

We booked four nights in one of the barrels in June 2023. The barrels were covered with an additional black tarp, which already made me concerned. And I was right, the roof had become damp, the wood directly at the head of the sleeping area was moldy, and the mattresses, while new, were full of grass. The windows were broken and the door warped from the heat, making normal opening and closing impossible. As friends arrived with a caravan and children, we initially helped set up there and then addressed the issues in the barrel. Also, because the site manager could not be found. In response to the issues, the only flippant remark was that we had already had the key for such a long time (2 hours), if we had come directly, he would have given us a different barrel, but now that wasn't possible (we hadn't even settled in yet). By the way, the other two barrels were completely available for the entire duration of our stay. We conclude from this that he either didn't want to give us a different barrel or that the other two could be in the same condition, and they wanted to avoid such a discussion. By the way, we had to pay the full price upon arrival. So we helped ourselves with disinfectant alcohol for the mold and cleaned and turned the mattresses around and disposed of the garbage that was underneath. Really a joke since you have to pay a flat fee for a final cleaning, which is then obviously not done. Upon a closer look inside the barrel, we noticed that although there was heating and a television (we didn't use either), there were no practical items at all. No curtains, with the lantern placed right in front, it was as bright as day in there at night, there was no way to hang anything inside or outside, neither coat hooks nor anything else. So, the towel from showering was urgently hung on the TV mount, which was constantly in the way. But unfortunately, it gets worse. Outside there is a rancid wooden table and metal chairs that already have green patina, you wouldn’t want to sit on them with bare legs. We also missed having an umbrella for some shade. We knew that we weren’t doing glamping, but we had at least imagined a minimum level of cleanliness. Unfortunately, it remained just an imagination. Furthermore, the site was consistently unclean in the sanitary facilities as well. The buildings seem to be just a few years old; however, they are already showing signs of mold. In the 5 days we were there, they did not clean even once. Showering costs 1 Euro. This information is nowhere to be found until you are standing in the shower and no water flows. There is no toilet paper in the toilets and no trash cans either. Very unfortunate. At least small trash cans for the ladies would be appropriate. At night, you also don't get any peace since loud parties are held deep into the night, with the site manager often celebrating along, meaning that the hangover has to be slept off the next morning. There was a traffic jam at the entrance with new guests. Only when a young lady rang the site manager's doorbell privately was the barrier opened and the guests could enter. The closing and opening times of the barriers were not as stated on the homepage but arbitrary. Just unfortunate. The company that owns the site could definitely not save on personnel. There is also a playground, which is only for parents who want to get rid of their children. There is a trampoline with several holes, so the kids fall through it. The playground is surrounded by wooden planks with sharp metal stakes sticking out, and the climbing rope is completely frayed. Extreme risk of injury. The parents who left their children to play unsupervised here apparently had more luck than sense. The only nice thing was the location. Directly by the Wiehl River and the outdoor pool.
