Beautiful, small campsite with a very good natural swimming pool. Good, clean sanitary facilities. The booking system is clear and they respond very quickly, but it is not clearly visible on the site plan how dense the vegetation around the circles is (TV reception). The Wi-Fi reception is very good and free. Now to the negatives: The campsite manager is difficult to deal with and in terms of site occupancy and distribution, clearly overwhelmed or unwilling, thus not meeting the wishes of the customers (poor communicator). This impression was confirmed by other guests who were present at the same time.

The place is quite nice, good excursion destinations in the area. However, the cleaning lady should be approached with caution; I was scolded so harshly for a polite question that it ruined everything for me. This place will not see me again.

An extended weekend was on the agenda, and so we were looking for a pitch for our caravan that was not too far from our hometown. We found one at a small campsite on the outskirts of the Upper Franconian town of Seßlach. The description on the operator's homepage piqued our curiosity, and since we were right in the middle of summer, we preferred to inquire by phone if there was still a pitch available for three nights for the planned period. All our questions were answered by the friendly Franconian voice on the other end of the "line" and thus we joyfully reserved a pitch for the weekend. Coming from Thuringia, we are not too unfamiliar with the Upper Franconians. Therefore, it did surprise us a bit to read in some reviews about the site manager that he would be unfriendly and grumpy. That is quite strong tobacco, as we experienced the complete opposite every day! The campsite "Sonnland" itself promised, already by name and the weather conditions during our visit, a few nice days, and to get straight to the point, we were not disappointed. We found a small, but very lovely campsite. The welcome at the reception was as friendly as the information over the phone, and after clarifying the usual formalities, we were guided to our pitch by the site manager on his zippy electric scooter. Just a nice note so that we wouldn’t suffer any damage with our trailer - and he was already back at the reception on his nimble two-wheeler to welcome new guests. One should know that the individual pitch areas are located at different height levels, and therefore can only be accessed via correspondingly steep "ramps". So, users of "Long Vehicle": beware! By the way, upon arrival, you get a key for the automatic barrier and there is no restriction on entry and exit times at the campsite. So, nothing stands in the way of an evening visit to the very beautiful medieval town of Seßlach with its many quaint taverns and beer gardens, as well as the magnificent surroundings. Some campsite operators could learn a proper lesson from this, especially in Germany, where you are often subjected to strict restrictions on barrier opening times. Of course, it goes without saying that you drive at walking speed on a campsite and maintain peace during the usual quiet hours! The pitch was almost ideal - electricity, fresh water, and gray water disposal were on-site, as was free Wi-Fi. Not long after our arrival, the caravan was set up quickly, and even the TV and radio reception worked immediately - despite the nearby beautiful and old trees. However, a few meters away, other campers were not so lucky as no receivable program could be coaxed from the satellite system. Already at the entrance to the campsite, we admired the small, artificially created, and beautifully designed swimming pond, which, after the sweat-inducing setup procedure in about 35-degree heat and a cloudless sky, literally called for a little cooling off. From then on, we took advantage of this opportunity, and I swam my circles in the wonderfully cool and clean "swimming pond" at least twice daily for half an hour. The sanitary facilities were also always clean and tidy, and there was a real dishwashing area, as well as the possibility of "black water" disposal. It’s incomprehensible the high-level complaining of reviewers at other places, especially regarding the payment of 50 cents for using the showers. This complaining is completely ridiculous, as the showers were equipped with a shut-off option, so one can take a very extensive shower and even wash their hair within the three available minutes - and I am a pronounced "long-haired" person! In conclusion, this campsite is a true gem and always worth a visit. Since it is open all year round, we will surely keep this campsite in mind for our weekend trips, also to further explore the beautiful town of Seßlach and its surroundings in the other seasons. We will definitely be back.

small campsite, great natural swimming lake - very idyllic, very clean sanitary facilities, although no restaurant/snack bar on site, but Edeka in immediate proximity, small town of Sesslach with beautiful old town quickly reachable by bike - there the inn "Roter Ochse" is highly recommended.

Small campsite with a nice little swimming pond. Toilets, showers, and washrooms were always clean. Dogs are only allowed with special permission (operator's website). We rather felt that we were tolerated but not wanted. Unfortunately, there is no playground or similar for children, only the swimming pond present. The advertised gastronomy and shop are not available on the site. The EDEKA approximately 600m away or the gastronomy in the town is probably what is meant. Overall, a very quiet place where hardly any noise can be heard both day and night.

The swimming pond is sensational, the groundskeeper is a bit eccentric.... Showers for 50 cents for 3 minutes are actually no longer up-to-date....
