From the B281 in Unterwellenborn towards Hohenwarte Reservoir/Bucha. From Bucha continue towards Hohenwarte for about 1 km until the intersection Saalthal-Alter, then signposted. The last 700 m are narrow and steep with pullouts (up to 10% gradient).
