Site
Terraced hillside, partially interspersed with hedges and individual tall deciduous trees. Located in a bay of the Hohenwarte Reservoir. Tourists stand on terraces near the lake with a view over the lake to the opposite forested slopes.
Access to water
Approximately 180 m long and 10 m wide grass-covered shoreline with a sunbathing area and a bathing island.

Access route
From the B281 in Unterwellenborn towards Hohenwarte Reservoir/Bucha. From Bucha continue towards Hohenwarte for about 1 km until the intersection Saalthal-Alter, then signposted. The last 700 m are narrow and steep with pullouts (up to 10% gradient).

Actually a beautiful campsite but cleanliness and maintenance
The staff was very nice. Unfortunately, the lawn was not mowed, making access to the pitch difficult due to untrimmed trees. Dead branches from a tree are protruding into the pitch, posing a danger to both people and RVs. They should have been removed before the start of the season. Furthermore, it … More

Currently on site. Very nicely located, deep in nature and wonderfully quiet.
