The surroundings and proximity to Steinhuder Meer are good. Some permanent campers think they have the say and can do whatever they want. When approached about the volume of the music during quiet times, they were quite rude.

The worst campsite I've ever been to

Nothing is good at this campsite, we wanted to stay here for 10 days and left after 3 days. I've never seen such a run-down campsite. The restroom is so smelly and only superficially cleaned, spiders felt right at home here, everywhere you look there are cobwebs. The sites are also a complete disaster. Each site has a tap, but many lack the indication that it's not drinking water but well water. Absolutely not recommended, I think the owner has no desire to keep his campsite in order.

The location is great, that’s why we decided to stay here, but the water, at about 50 cm high, does not invite swimming; when you walk further, you stand in mud. The sanitary facilities were also in a decent condition. However, the worst is the state of the plots 🤒 you should bring a hedge trimmer. The chaos begins at the reception; even when there is enough space, you are assigned a spot where sometimes not even a caravan fits, and small tents get large spaces 🤒 So all in all, it's better to keep your distance and check out neighboring campsites.

We are here for the second time this year. And we will definitely come back next year. The site is ten meters from the shore, we were able to dock our sailboat at the privately accessible dock with a key. The sanitary facilities are new and cleaned daily. And the fact that the site looks a little chaotic and the grass is not trimmed with nail scissors gives an extra plus point. If you need a sterile, 100% tidy, and well-organized environment for your vacation, you should better go to a hotel.

Better to keep looking than to book here!!!

Location: Top, unfortunately, the tall reeds block the view of Lake Steinhude. Dog beach on-site, swimming beach further away from the campground. Otherwise, only private boat docks. Campground condition: The best part is the sanitary facilities, thanks to Sandra, the good soul of the place. No campground lighting, unkempt condition, no trash bins on the site, Wi-Fi ONLY in the reception area, poor to no satellite reception. Staff: friendly but disorganized and indifferent. Complaints about permanent parties from young people at the site were ignored. Even established quiet hours were repeatedly disregarded with driving cars, loud music, and lawn maintenance of permanent campers. Price-performance ratio: Completely overpriced and absolutely nothing for those seeking relaxation.

The place is not advisable. The reception seemed chaotic, the trash bins were overflowing, the paths were in poor condition, there was no lighting on the paths, and the price-performance ratio was inconsistent.

Campsite with Potential

May 2023

Despite the bad reviews from previous years, we dared to stay for one night. Unfortunately, the mentioned shortcomings are still present. Despite the excellent location, we cannot recommend the site. The reception was a bit chaotic, as several guests, including us, were assigned a wrong spot (ours was already occupied). The site itself had both a paved area and a grassy area. The grass was not mowed and the hedges were not trimmed. The water connection had a sluggish drain. As a result, there was always water in the drain basin. A paradise for mosquitoes. The sanitary facilities were not well maintained. The lack of paper in the evening had not been replenished by 10 in the morning. The roll service was okay.
