Campingplatz Freizeitinsel

The campsite is very well situated for cycling and also for visiting Regensburg. A train station that takes you to Regensburg in 20 minutes is only about 1 km away. The terraced pitches are large and beautiful (since no tarps and carpets are allowed) grassy areas, which are also sufficiently firm even in the rain. The sanitary building is bright, clean, and functional. There is no restaurant, but there is a café with delicious cakes. There are eateries in the village about 2.5 km away. All in all, a good campsite!

The place is perfectly located. Away from everything but you can get to the town quickly and easily. And the café at the campsite is fantastic. Everything tastes very good, whether it's cake or ice cream, simply 😋

We are here at least once a year. The place is very beautiful. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Walking along the Danube is simply wonderful. The location is perfect for excursions but still very quiet. We feel comfortable every time.

Very beautiful and clean place. Very friendly operators with good excursion tips. Great location to explore the surroundings including Regensburg and the Altmühltal. Also suitable for cycling, as there is direct access to the bike path. The attached pastry shop makes delicious cakes, even with timely orders for birthdays.

The campsite is family-run and beautifully located by the Danube or a side canal of the Danube. An outdoor swimming pool is in the immediate vicinity, and the area invites you to hike and bike. The site is relatively new, the pitches are pleasantly large and usually equipped with electricity as well as fresh and wastewater. The sanitary building is new and well-equipped, but here comes the however: There are about 120 pitches and only one sanitary building with 5 showers for men/women and similarly few toilets. This is insufficient during fully booked periods! Unfortunately, all water taps only activate by pressing, and the water runs only for a short time. Why a code is needed for the sanitary building was also unclear to us and very cumbersome. Unfortunately, we had a pitch where other campers (tent site) constantly walked over the way to the sanitary, which was at times very uncomfortable; corresponding paths should be marked. On the other hand, the staff was super friendly, and the cakes/tarts in the attached café were delightful. Due to the situation around the sanitary building, it unfortunately did not reach 5 stars.

Very friendly and attentive campground owners. The site is very clean and well-located for various outdoor activities. Recommended for a vacation with a swimming-enthusiastic dog.

We stopped here for a day during a round trip in mid-September to see Regensburg and some highlights of the region. I confirm all the positive comments here.

We stayed overnight at a transit site. The first impression at the reception and of the campground was very positive; it is very well-kept and laid out in terraces. The operator was very nice, accommodating, and helpful. The sanitary facilities: modern, always clean and tidy. We will definitely come back for a holiday to explore the beautiful area.
