Campingpark Wemding

My husband and I love this campsite. It is very quiet here. You can’t hear the road at all. The pitches are very spacious and well maintained.

We have never encountered such an expensive campsite in comparison to others. It starts with the website and ends with the phone support. The website lists prices per person for the overnight stay, with each additional person costing extra. Therefore, if you arrive as a couple, as usual, you pay 59 EUR per night in September 2026 for the overnight stay in a camper, including electricity. For this price, you are allocated a neglected potato field as a campsite. For this rate, elsewhere you get wastewater and water connection included. The nearby bathing spot (referred to here as WaldSee) does not justify this price at all. The receptionist was also not particularly friendly, giving the impression that his dog was more important to him than the camping guests. At other lakes in the area, you can find better places for less money.

We stayed for 2 nights (over 100 €). Lady at the reception very friendly and helpful. Restaurant closed, toilet facilities in the old building very old but clean. New toilet facilities available but with very simple construction. No dogs allowed at the natural lake, no matter how hot it was. Not even allowed to walk along the edge, even though this is the direct path to the hiking trails to Wemding. We will not come back. Beautifully situated landscape. The site has potential.

Beautiful terraced campsite. Not very crowded. The ground is rocky, so it’s a nightmare for tent pegs. The sanitary facilities are partially old, but we don’t mind as they are very clean. Direct access to the bathing lake. There is a kiosk, a waterslide and a very nice children's playground. There is no catering at the campsite, and the small shop’s selection is limited to drinks, ice cream, sweets, and cigarettes. The Wi-Fi is only usable in very few places. Overall, we find the site too expensive unless you enjoy traveling Spartan-style and prefer solitude.

A week before Pentecost and the place is almost empty. For good reason. The grounds are very beautiful, but neglected. There are hardly any paths, and even less lighting at night. The restaurant has been closed for years. Bun service is available in the main season. The sanitary facilities in the main building are in urgent need of renovation. The new sanitary building will certainly be nice when it is finally finished. For the price, the place is currently absolutely too expensive. Wemding and the Ries are always worth a trip.

Were there yesterday, huge construction fence to the pool 1 km to unsecured street at the entrance of the pool, which includes the restaurant already closed, renovation urgently needed and prices for all that were empty according to the camping owner allegedly increased due to Corona for one night to stay 49,-€ not correct, will never come back.

Due to Corona, there is no direct access to the lake anymore, requiring a detour of about 1 km. Site illumination at night is poor. Too expensive.
