Flat grassy area right by the Ruhr River, which is dammed here to create Lake Baldeney. Tourist pitches mostly located in the rear area, some under old trees, some directly by the water's edge. Adjacent to the marina of the Essen Yacht Club and the Baldeney White Fleet (excursion boats). Inland forests and fields. Conveniently located for visiting Essen.

We have never felt so unwelcome at a CP as we did at CP Baldeneysee. Since I had the audacity to ring the reception bell a few minutes before half past eleven, I immediately fell into disfavor with the owner and instead of receiving a welcome, I was very brusquely informed that it was not yet half past eleven (the official check-in time starts then). Since we were the only check-in for two days, I found this reaction quite petty. Notes are everywhere with instructions on what to do or not to do. This would be fundamentally fine if the tone were not so rude (e.g., Otherwise, it will be expensive for the camper!!!). The sanitary facilities are very outdated. The playground is unusable: the climbing frame is completely rusted, thorny bushes grow all around, and the grass has not been mowed for a long time (even at the pitch).

Very beautiful location directly by the lake! Unfortunately, there is no possibility to drain grey water, sanitary facilities are clean but completely outdated, so the price and performance are not in line!!
