KNAUS Campingpark Bad Kissingen

Super quiet, super clean, super close to the city, great staff... what more could you want?!? It doesn't get better than this!!!

During our stay, the men's toilets and showers were unavailable due to renovation work – which is particularly inconvenient during the peak season. Initially, a disabled toilet and a holiday cottage were offered as an alternative. However, the latter was closed again after just one day and replaced with portable toilets. Despite these severely limited sanitary facilities, an event surcharge was applied due to a city festival. Additionally, it's worth noting that a national road runs directly over the campsite. On the positive side, it is very close to the city.

We spent two days at the campsite. Great pitches and especially a very pleasant welcome. There isn’t much to do at the campsite itself, but that was not a problem for us since the center of Bad Kissingen is nearby. Because the sanitary building was under renovation, we received part of our camping fees back. A nice gesture.

We have been to the campsite several times before. This time, all the men's toilets were out of order, and only portable toilets were available. Additionally, the men's showers were under renovation and could only be used to a limited extent.

The location to the city is simply great. That was it. The campsite was overpriced for a premium site that was far too small, with men's showers only partially usable and men's toilets completely unusable. Outside, there were three portable toilets that stank to high heaven. It should have been noted on the website that the site couldn't be fully utilized, but that wasn't mentioned due to the Rakotzifest. That was it.

We stayed for 1 night at Knaus Campingpark Bad Kissingen, as we have done for many years on our way to or from the south. Even though the men's sanitary facilities (toilets and showers) were being renovated, we were charged the regular price of 70.40 €, and not a word was mentioned about the situation at check-in or through notices at the reception. Only after my complaint, following the setup of our tent and a visit to the restroom, was the situation somewhat reluctantly explained, and a refund of 6.75 € was issued. The men had only Dixi toilets and showers separated only by curtains available – at a fully booked site!!! It raises the question of how one can renovate a sanitary building during the high season??! After this experience, we will look for an alternative!

It would have been appropriate to reduce the price during the renovations of the sanitary facilities. The layout of the sites confuses many campers. It would be better to organize the sites according to the spot numbers.

The site is very beautiful for guests seeking peace and quiet. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, on the days we had booked, the men’s sanitary facilities were out of service, and the restaurant was completely closed. This was not mentioned during the booking process. However, good alternatives were offered for the showers and toilets, so there were no restrictions. Overall, I recommend it;)
