Very nice campsite right by the lake. In the autumn, countless waterfowl gather here, including several thousand geese. The site is home to a colony of ground squirrels, which unfortunately hardly come out of their burrows in the autumn. The site has many trees and is very well-maintained. The sanitary facilities are not exactly stylish; I would estimate they are about 40 years old, but they are very clean and function perfectly. There are no mixer taps, but there are new hand showers. 50 cents for 2 minutes of hot water showering is outdated but not expensive. Laundry with the washing machines is reasonably priced at 1 to 1.50€, the machines are flawless and numerous. The seasonal campers are scattered around and must dismantle everything every winter, so no permanent structures can be made. All in all, a lovely facility.

The site is located in the Seewinkel - to the east of Lake Neusiedl near the Hungarian border - directly at Zicksee. This is a small, shallow steppe lake, whose depth often varies greatly. Sometimes it is only knee-deep. The area is covered with grass and there are many trees providing a shaded spot. The sanitary facilities are spacious and clean. Unfortunately, you have to insert 0.50 € for hot water in the shower. The campsites are marked by trees, thus there are clear boundaries. Near the site, there is a bakery by the lake that also sells essential groceries. In front of the campsite, an organic farmer has a stand for fruits and vegetables several times a week. In the village - about 1.5 km away - there is a supermarket. By the lake, there are several affordable inns. A special feature of the site is the ground squirrels. These are the small relatives of the marmots, running around in dozens and can even be hand-fed because they are so trusting. Here is one of the largest ground squirrel protection areas in Europe, which is why there is also a strict dog ban to protect these small rodents. The region has excellent flat cycling paths. Several excursion offers in the area provide a "holiday program" (animal park, state exhibition, nature park hikes, thermal baths, basilica, etc.). A day trip to nearby Hungary offers further opportunities (e.g., Esterházy Castle Fertőd). On the west side of Lake Neusiedl, there are the famous summer games outdoor theater performances in Mörbisch and St. Margarethen.

The campsite is significantly underrated. Free Wi-Fi reception has been available throughout the site since June 2016. It's a quiet place outside of the holiday season.
