For children, it's truly a great place with plenty of activities and recreational facilities. The restaurant offers delicious and good food. Everything is designed to be child-friendly. Now comes the "but": The Spechthorst sanitary building. During our stay (Holy Week 2026), it was quite crowded. The few showers and toilets were simply insufficient for the number of people present. Moreover, this building was partially closed and cleaned during peak times. In the mornings after breakfast, you had to expect wait times for the toilets, and in the evenings, I could sometimes only shower the tired little ones after 7:30 PM because everyone had to wait due to the closure. There’s no option to go to other sanitary buildings. Without private sanitary facilities, I would not book there again during holiday periods.

Very beautiful campsite, with plenty of opportunities for children to let off steam, family-friendly, the pitches are large and there is something for everyone, sunny, shaded, dog-friendly or right by the water, and even some with their own sanitation. The pitches are spacious, we could even play badminton at our site in front of the motorhome. Our conclusion: we will come back! One thing is very unpleasant, and that is in the women's toilets there are no trash bins, so some women just throw their used items on the floor or try to flush them down the toilet.

Pentecost in Wedderbergen was pure luxury. After making a phone call in error-free Denglish, we arrived at the site and had a choice between 2 spots (with dog). We decided on the second spot offered, as the access was easier with our motorhome. Our parcel was appropriately situated between a large camping group and the street described on the internet that you might hear. We paid just over €200 for 2 nights! By the way, this was our most expensive overnight stay with the motorhome so far, and we have already been in half of Europe. For this price, my expectations were somewhat different - red carpet, paths sprinkled with tulip blossoms, etc. The street was surprisingly busy and loud. However, the bike paths, the weather, and the surroundings were great. It's just a normal campsite with too high prices.

The site has a very spacious plot with water and sewage connections. A lot of investment has been made in recent years. The site now features an indoor swimming pool, a large water playground including slides, a 1000 square meter indoor play park as well as a restaurant. During the season, there is extensive animation for children. The sanitary building is cleaned several times a day and is in good condition; additionally, plots with private sanitary facilities can be booked. As the site is located directly on a canal, water sports can be practiced here as well as fishing. A small bathing lake is also available for this purpose. A fishing pass can be purchased at the reception. Dog owners can additionally use a small forest for walking their dogs. Overall, a very good site.

Very nicely located place. Ideal for families as well. Plots are partly located at or near the water (small river). Sanitary facilities are always very well maintained. Supplies on site with the essentials. Swimming pool, sports field, playground available. Bathing lake (artificially created) for the summer is also present. All in all, a beautiful place and quickly reachable just behind the border (of course depending on where you come from :-) )

Large parking areas, access routes for arrival and departure, natural lake somewhat neglected, many fishing opportunities, football field and campsite were not mowed, pigs and rabbits for the little ones to feed, very nice swimming pool (included), site accessible continuously from 6 AM to 10 PM.
