Slightly sloping meadow area located in a bay with some shrubs and bushes as well as medium-height deciduous and coniferous trees. Some pitches are gravelled. Separate area for guests with dogs. At the foot of a wooded mountain slope.
Access to water
Several gravelled beach sections along the approximately 450 m long shore, followed by a sunbathing lawn.

Great area, unfriendly reception
Very rude! I asked if I could make a reservation for a later stay. They replied curtly whether we had not read the sign. It said, "We are really fully booked." And one could simply check the website. Great campsite with the most beautiful lake I have ever seen! Bavarian Caribbean, the name is so fitting!

Beautiful Location
We had a pitch in the first row with direct access to the lake and an idyllic view of the turquoise blue lake. This beautiful campsite in Kochel, Bavaria, is situated in a fantastic location on the idyllic shores of Lake Walchensee. The pitches offer a wonderful view of the village of Walchensee and the Herzogstand mountain.
Camping Walchensee: pitches in the shade with a view of the water
Camping Walchensee is an excellent choice for a relaxing holiday in Upper Bavaria. The pitches in the shade of the deciduous trees with a view of the leisure lake and the Herzogstand mountain in the Bavarian Alps are very popular. The parcelling out of the gravelled pitches means that motorhomes and caravans can make the most of the space and campers can enjoy their privacy undisturbed. The sanitary facilities with showers and toilets, the disposal station for grey water and the reception are within easy reach of the pitches. The campsite also offers a bread roll service in the morning and has a grocery shop for smaller purchases. Dogs are allowed on some pitches on request, but not larger breeds. Dogs must be kept on a lead throughout the campsite and on the lakeshore. Dogs are not allowed in the water at Walchensee.

The two bathing lakes in Upper Bavaria in the shadow of the Herzogstand are perfect holiday destinations for active campers who want to discover the region on a hiking trip. Both Walchensee and Kochelsee have excellent bathing spots and boat hire facilities for water fun. Walchensee is particularly popular with divers. Sunken car, boat and even aeroplane wrecks lie at the bottom of the lake here. Due to its size, the Kochelsee is circumnavigated by cyclists, who can enjoy a wonderful day trip.
