Camping Waalstrand

You will be camping on a long stretch of land right next to the Waal river. The campsite has two beach sections, about 100 metres long and up to 20 metres wide, bordered by groynes. Here you can swim in the river, relax on the shore, or simply watch the passing ships.

The pitches for holidaymakers are spacious, ranging from 100 to 120 square metres, and are individually marked out. Many of them offer a direct view of the water. They have electricity connections (6 to 10 amps), and most are equipped with fresh water and wastewater connections as well as TV hook-ups. Some areas are also completely car-free.

If you want to travel with your four-legged friend, please note that there is a strict ban on dogs across the entire campsite. On the plus side, it is wonderfully peaceful here: there is a fixed quiet period from 12:30 to 13:30, allowing you to relax and enjoy the idyllic riverside atmosphere.

Overnight prices depend on the season. For 2027, the guide prices are as follows:

• High season: A couple pays approx. EUR 42.50 per night, a family approx. EUR 48.50.
• Low season: A couple pays approx. EUR 36.75, a family approx. EUR 43.00.
• Included: Electricity, Wi-Fi, showers, and waste disposal fees are already included.
• Extra costs: Tourist tax is charged separately. It is best to enter your travel dates directly to check the latest prices.

Since the campsite is located very close to the motorway, arriving with a car and caravan or a motorhome is incredibly straightforward. However, winter camping is not possible, as the campsite is only open from 1 April to 4 October. For the pitches on the riverbank, you should pack sturdy pegs for the grassy ground.

There is a cosy restaurant right on the campsite where you can enjoy delicious meals. If you prefer to cook for yourself, you will find a supermarket, a grocery store, and a snack bar for a quick bite in the town of Gendt, just 1.5 kilometres away.

You won't get bored here! In addition to swimming in the river, the campsite has its own outdoor pool and a great children's playground. Sports lovers will appreciate the boat slipway, excellent fishing spots, and bicycle and e-bike rentals to explore the beautiful Gelderland region on two wheels.
