Camping Villaggio Thurium

It was good that we were quickly helped to call a mechanic because the exhaust on our camper was loose. We had to stay one day longer because of that. We were 10 campers on the site.

We arrived on October 10th (it was advertised everywhere as "open all year") - however, we were turned away at the gate, the place had already closed. What a shame ☹️

In 2023, we stayed for 2 nights at this site during the preseason. We especially liked the tranquility and the choice of free spaces in the airy pine forest. The beach was very clean, and the sanitary facilities (at least in the preseason) made a good impression. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always ready for a chat. Only the issue of waste left a bad taste, as there is no separation taking place, which is a pity. Nevertheless, the site is highly recommended.

Hello. Since I am vacationing at this campsite for the second time, I believe I can allow myself to make a judgment. The first time was for 5 months from November 2017 to April 2018 and for the second time 3 months from February 2019 to May 2019. 1. The site is very dirty. 2. The toilets can only be used if you have cleaned them yourself beforehand. 3. This also applies to the showers. Since it is a camping site from Acsi, there are many travelers passing through, accordingly, the sanitary facilities look like it, and we as long-term campers suffer greatly from it. Furthermore, the outside area does not look any better. We have found that the sanitary facilities are cleaned approximately every 4-5 weeks. Additionally, I would like to point out that the washing machines are not any better, two are defective, the rest look terrible, unworthy of a 4-star campsite. 4. It is a site where dogs are allowed, unfortunately, there are also campers here who have something against dogs and then want to hit the dogs with sticks, and dog owners are threatened. If you complain, you are left alone, the same applies to the stray dogs; we are told to chase the dogs away. 5. Furthermore, we have noticed that in March, a substance is sprayed against pests and weeds, even though we live here, no consideration is taken for us at all. 6. This site was awarded 4 stars by ADAC in 2018; my question is, who rated this site with four stars? I would gladly send you pictures if desired.

We have known this place for many years and have spent several holidays here in the early and late season. We enjoy the peace (in the off-season!!!), the natural impression of the pine forest, and the choice of pitches: sunny right by the beach (our preferred choice), inland with young palm trees, or shady in the loose pine forest. The site is our first option when we choose Calabria for winter again (when our own cottage is closed: there is a large Auchan shopping center a few kilometers away).
