In 2018, I'm already going to Valdisole for the tenth time; my wife's family has been going there for almost thirty years now. And yet, among the people we meet there every year, there are those who have been going for much longer. What is it due to? Not the particularly good sanitary facilities, since these are partly dilapidated as my predecessors report. However, it's never dirty, as there is staff throughout the day under the Italian sun to keep these facilities clean. There can also be power outages, and the Wi-Fi is slow and expensive, with 3G/LTE reception also limited due to the rural location. And yet, it is the most beautiful vacation I can imagine. The people at the reception, the bar, and in the shop are all very friendly and helpful, the tranquility is simply heavenly, the spots have plenty of shade, and the lake is just dreamily beautiful. The regular guests all know each other, and everyone helps each other when it counts. The lake is phenomenal, and the surrounding area has various beautiful old towns, the castle of Bolsena, and restaurants for every taste and budget. Overall, I can especially recommend this campground to families with children of all ages, especially those who do not mind if it is a bit rustic. Those who are active cyclists will also find a good base here. If you are looking for glamping, you are in the wrong place.

An old campsite, with an 80s flair. Absolutely not my style. Everyone stands as they please, no privacy. The sanitary facilities are just disgusting, dirty, and outdated. Everything is run-down and old. There is no vacation feeling at all. For us, never again!

Positive: Very friendly family-run business, large pitches, cars allowed at the pitch, yet very quiet. Located directly by the lake; windsurfing possible. Negative: The technical condition of the sanitary facilities is not always okay, but is repaired or modernized from time to time. Overall impression: This is the most pleasant campsite in Italy that we have ever experienced. We have been there five times between 2007 and 2013, and it will definitely be a mandatory stop on our trips to Italy in the future. Absolutely recommended for true campers, as evidenced by the large number of "regular guests." Furthermore noteworthy: Despite the size of the site, nearly all guests are nice and considerate.
