If you don't like cooking yourself, you are welcome in the restaurant with terrace. Meals are also available to take away. The snack bar is also open in July and August. Although the campsite is located directly on the Durance, swimming in the river is prohibited. Instead, the pool area with water slides promises swimming fun. The campsite also offers a wide range of sports activities, such as tennis, beach volleyball, aquagym and archery. For the youngest guests, there is a paddling pool, a playground and a mini club. Older siblings will enjoy the entertainment programme with sports tournaments. In the evenings, there are shows with magicians, dancers and music groups. There is a party atmosphere in the soundproofed discotheque. Alternatively, you can enjoy a soothing massage in the wellness area. In addition to the extensive range of leisure activities on offer, the practical aspects are not neglected at Camping Sunêlia L'Hippocampe: most of the parcelled-out pitches are equipped with their own water, waste water and electricity connections. Cassette toilets can be emptied. There is also a supply and disposal station for motorhomes. The laundry room has washing machines and tumble dryers.

Excursions into the rural idyll of Provence

The Sunêlia L'Hippocampe campsite is located 430 metres above sea level, around 600 metres from the village of Volonne. A walk through the village takes you past medieval houses and gates. The quiet and serene atmosphere on the village streets, which is typical of the entire Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region, is particularly impressive. Bicycles, canoes and pedalos are available for hire at the campsite to explore the surrounding area. Fishing licences are also available. The nearest larger towns are Sisteron, Manosque and Digne les Bains. The most famous natural spectacle in the area is the Verdon Gorge. The Verdon flows for 21 kilometres through a canyon up to 700 metres deep. The Verdon Nature Park is ideal for hiking, climbing and mountain biking.
