The animation team and the Lion King show. The water area, the accommodation. Location/Rental accommodation: We stayed in a prestige colvert and it was top-notch.
The convenience store (larger and better stocked) and the restaurant (too many missing items). There are no more benefits for holders of the Sunelia card.

🤝 We enjoyed rediscovering the campsite as we have visited it for several summers with the family. My daughter, now 24 years old, wanted to see the campsite again! Of course, it is much quieter than we remember because we came this year in the low season. But it is also worth experiencing. Quiet, fewer people at the pools. We miss the animations, evening events, etc. ... so we will certainly return next summer in the high season. Once you've experienced Hyppocampe and Sunelia, no other campsite can satisfy you!!! Location/Rental accommodation: Good, comfortable, well laid out. Well exposed. Pillows need improvement? 👎 Some animations maintained in the low season? We were able to enjoy massages and the spa! From the pool, hikes. But a little animated evening in the week would have been welcome.

I stumbled upon the Hippocampe campsite by chance while opening a promotional email. I ventured into making a booking in the dark, not knowing either the campsite or the surrounding places. I must say that everything was perfect! The campsite was well-kept despite being at the end of the season, the bungalow was well equipped and clean, the reception was always available, fantastic pools with slides, and the whole setting was truly excellent. It's a shame we couldn't swim in the lagoon because it had already closed a couple of days prior to our arrival due to the end of the season. Pitch/Rental accommodation: Excellent accommodation. Everything was really positive. We discovered the American coffee machine, which we got hooked on 🤣

👍 - The mini club offered super activities, and Monday evening was top! Accessible even for 4-year-olds, so really great. - The spa with a view of the Durance (treatment ritual a bit insufficient for the price of 130 euros). - The dome for the evening events. - The chip bracelets for payments. Location/Accommodation: large terrace. 👎 - The restaurant... and the industrial crêpes were really yuck. Once, never again. After all, crêpe batter is not difficult. The pizzas were better, even though the dough was also ready-made. Snack not tested. - Water area: the size is a bit small during heat waves to accommodate everyone. The pool is not cleaned in the evening: debris in the paddling pool remains the next day, I had to point it out, a soggy piece of bread still at the edge of the pool the next day... but if people didn't eat sandwiches by the pool as well.

The animations are perfect for children. Location/Accommodation: Perfect and functional.
The mosquitoes are a nightmare, I had to shorten my stay just because of the mosquitoes. Location/Accommodation: Upon arrival, a car was parked in my spot, I had to wait to settle in.

The lagoon, clean sanitary facilities. On the main campsite, outdated sanitary facilities. Pitch/Rental accommodation: Great spot
For a 5-star campsite, this is below par. No bread available at 10 AM while the campsite is full. Evening swimming is canceled without any reason. (Then don’t offer it) In bad weather, they leave you to your fate.

The dreamlike location amidst the mountain ranges of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region makes Camping Sunêlia L'Hippocampe particularly unique. Situated between the idyllic village of Volonne and a bird-rich lake, campers can always catch the most beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and olive groves. Thanks to the pool area, sports facilities and entertainment programme, nature lovers and hikers as well as families with children will feel right at home here.
At the 12-hectare Sunêlia L'Hippocampe campsite, holidaymakers can enjoy relaxing hours in the shade of the olive trees. The upscale facilities and services of the campsite also contribute to this. There is a small supermarket directly on the site for your daily needs. Fresh croissants and bread are also available every morning. If you don't like cooking yourself, you are welcome in the restaurant with terrace. Meals are also available to take away. The snack bar is also open in July and August. Although the campsite is located directly on the Durance, swimming in the river is prohibited. Instead, the pool area with water slides promises swimming fun. The campsite also offers a wide range of sports activities, such as tennis, beach volleyball, aquagym and archery. For the youngest guests, there is a paddling pool, a playground and a mini club. Older siblings will enjoy the entertainment programme with sports tournaments. In the evenings, there are shows with magicians, dancers and music groups. There is a party atmosphere in the soundproofed discotheque. Alternatively, you can enjoy a soothing massage in the wellness area. In addition to the extensive range of leisure activities on offer, the practical aspects are not neglected at Camping Sunêlia L'Hippocampe: most of the parcelled-out pitches are equipped with their own water, waste water and electricity connections. Cassette toilets can be emptied. There is also a supply and disposal station for motorhomes. The laundry room has washing machines and tumble dryers.
The Sunêlia L'Hippocampe campsite is located 430 metres above sea level, around 600 metres from the village of Volonne. A walk through the village takes you past medieval houses and gates. The quiet and serene atmosphere on the village streets, which is typical of the entire Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region, is particularly impressive. Bicycles, canoes and pedalos are available for hire at the campsite to explore the surrounding area. Fishing licences are also available. The nearest larger towns are Sisteron, Manosque and Digne les Bains. The most famous natural spectacle in the area is the Verdon Gorge. The Verdon flows for 21 kilometres through a canyon up to 700 metres deep. The Verdon Nature Park is ideal for hiking, climbing and mountain biking.
