Very nice and quiet little place. We were here at the end of September and had a lovely time; we found the late check-ins and early departures of the campers quite disturbing, a separate pitch would be appropriate here. It's also great that this is a dog-free place. Sanitary facilities always clean. We would gladly come back.

Completely okay for a stopover, but for a longer vacation???

Small manageable site, also used by permanent campers. There are camp rules that average campers adhere to, but the permanent campers unfortunately, as so often, do not. So beware when assigning sites. It's not advisable to be right next to permanent campers. The snack wagon at the site is okay. The selection for daily needs is very limited, but sufficient. Here too, the staff shortage seems to be noticeable already. The sanitary area should undergo a thorough cleaning once. Usually superficially clean, but just superficially. For a stopover we would come back, for a longer holiday probably not.

We were only passing through for one night and we really enjoyed it. Due to traffic jams on the route, we unfortunately couldn't reach the site on time at 6:00 PM. After very nice email communication, we were able to arrive after 6:00 PM. Would love to do it again!

Quiet spot in a beautiful lakeside location

We had a very nice camping spot right by the lake (for an additional fee) with absolute quiet - except for occasional snoring noises from the neighborhood :). We didn't notice or see anything of the railway line described in reviews. The sanitary facilities were okay and clean. The limited food and drink offer at a snack trailer on the site was very tasty and good. Absolutely nothing against dogs, but a dog-free place can also be very pleasant without a dog.

At the Stein campsite, you always feel very welcome when you need a little place on your way due to the long drive. In front of the campsite, there is a large meadow and even some spots with electricity that you can use. The campsite is right by the lake; it's wonderfully quiet and not too big. The sanitary facilities are okay and are kept clean by the diligent staff member. The campers here are also mindful. There is also a great playground. You can definitely stay here for a longer time! This was our second time here; we found a spot and were able to pay the friendly staff member at the office in a relaxed manner the next morning. Quite naturally. Great and thanks to the team! This is not so common in the area; at Chiemsee, the campsites, based on our experiences, are busy keeping the campers at bay with barriers, chains, and serious signage. So off to Simssee to the Stein camping!

Everything you need is there. Nice operator family, clean (mostly) sanitary facilities, quiet environment, great snack bar, comfort pitches with electricity, water, and sewage at a fair price. We will gladly come back.
