Camping Santa Mavra

The terraced pitch is located in a beautiful bay. The spots in the front row are particularly popular as they lie directly on or above the water. The sanitary facilities with shower cabins are clean, but without toilet paper. There are enough 220V sockets, but not at every spot, so an extension cord is advantageous. Water connections are distributed throughout the site. There is a waste disposal for chemical toilets, but no drainage for gray water. In the adjacent hotel, there is a mini-market and a restaurant where one can eat well and at reasonable prices. The water in the bay is crystal clear and invites swimming and bathing. This has also been discovered by catamaran sailors, who anchor together in the bay. The already described access to the pitch is indeed very steep, but can be managed well with a well-motorized motorhome. We were also intercepted and escorted by the owner in advance on a moped.

We stayed there for 2 nights, were intercepted by the owner with a scooter on the street. We paid 35 euros per night. The sanitary facilities were clean but in very poor condition and without toilet paper. The small access to the sea consists only of a boat ramp that was permanently used during our stay for loading and unloading boats. As a result, it was very noisy and there was a strong odor nuisance from fumes. Recommendation: do not stand by the water.

Beautiful, generous campsite, laid out in terraces with old olive trees, sanitary facilities clean and simple, very engaged operator. €20, €5 for electricity, cheaper if staying longer than a day.

Campsite directly by the sea in a cove. Sanitary facilities are acceptable for Southern European conditions. Difficult access for cars with caravans since the access road is very narrow. Google Maps directs you very well straight to the site; otherwise, it’s better to call them as described on the website and get picked up.

We were lucky to stand in the 1st row with a beautiful view of the magnificent bay. The site offers everything you need in good condition for Greek standards. The site management is very friendly and straightforward. However, they only speak English. It is definitely worth visiting this site instead of the neighboring, much narrower Dessimi Beach site. Also, the steep descent to Santa Maura should not deter you from a visit.
