The main campsite is directly on the Saale and is accessible via a small bridge. There are also two remote camping pitches with electricity, which must be paid for separately. You have to insert a one Euro coin, but it is unclear how much kWh the Euro is worth. The pitch costs the same as at the main campsite with sanitary facilities. We paid three Euros for electricity for one night at the main campsite. There is no mobile reception, Wi-Fi costs extra, or is free in the beer garden. Showering, drying hair, and warm water for washing dishes cost one Euro each.

A truly charming campsite with heart

We have been here many times and the mix is what adds to the charm, from friendly permanent campers, the "I'm going to... tomorrow," the party folks (who are kept in check by Franz), to family vacations, everything can be found here. During the day, everyone jumps around in the hall and in the evening, people celebrate together or retreat in peace, or enjoy delicious meals in the restaurant. If something is missing, the shop on-site is happy to help. I think there are very few campers who only come to Rossmühle once. We are already looking forward to seeing you again.

• Very friendly and helpful owners • Beautiful location with spots directly at the Franconian Saale and a large tent meadow • Boat rental with pick-up and drop-off service • Small shop at the reception for some everyday items and ordering service for rolls • Very comfortable and very clean sanitary facilities of a high standard • There is a room with a washing machine and dryer of industrial standard (short running times), refrigerator and freezer for use, as well as a changing table • Game room including hot plates • Sanitary and kitchen facilities are cleaned several times a day • The children's playground is fenced and can be viewed from all sides. It is located directly next to the reception and the guest area, both inside and outside. You can choose a sunny or shady spot. • Beautiful hiking area, for example, the Saalebrückenweg is a lovely circular hiking trail directly along the Franconian Saale with many varied landscape sections • Cycling tours along the Franconian Saale, almost no slopes. For example, upstream to Hammelburg, Bad Kissingen and downstream to Gemünden. The bike paths are mostly paved, sometimes finely gravelled • The regional train stop (Unterfranken-Shuttle EB 50) to Hammelburg, Bad Kissingen, Schweinfurt or in the opposite direction to Gemünden is directly at the campsite • One could also use the train for the return to the campsite (with a bike day pass, currently €6) • Camping supplier and very good service workshop right next door, as well as sale of Hymer-Eriba models of all kinds and equipment • All the points mentioned above together create the conditions for families to have a wonderful, relaxing holiday and also the desire to return. • P.S.: For a true camper, it should be self-evident to leave the site and its facilities as they would like to find them.

Unfortunately, a letdown for us.

Despite having a reservation with our caravan, we were directed to the already overcrowded campsite. Here there was a sanitary building, without showers and only cold water, and unfortunately, due to the overcrowding, cleanliness left much to be desired. Our 50m power cable reel unfortunately was not sufficient to reach the next power distribution point, so we had to borrow another cable reel from the operator. Vehicles constantly drove over the cable that was laid across the campsite. The whole facility gives a chaotic impression. No signage, narrow bridges, and roads. The mowing of the pitches was overdue. Wi-Fi is offered, but unfortunately, it does not reach the slightly remote campsite. Caution: there are areas here with no signal! Shower options (a good 5-minute walk) are available at the proper campsites and come at an extra cost. There is no regard for quiet hours and reasonable music volume after 10 PM. We were disturbed by noise from multiple directions throughout the night. We hope our negative experiences are just an unfortunate coincidence. Unfortunately, we cannot comment on the main camping site, as we did not visit there. Overall, the facility is close to nature by the Saale.

Beautifully located campsite with friendly staff and spotless sanitary facilities. The site is designed with great attention to detail and the owners have a personal word for everyone. Excellent gastronomy, a beautiful hiking area, and a boat rental complete the holiday experience. Always happy to return!

The Rossmuehle campsite always appeals to us. We camped with a larger group on the "island". Saale on one side, Muehlbach on the other. Great for kids to splash around, canoeing, playground available. Showers, toilets, and snack bar all in order. There's a small shop where you can find everyday items. Rolls are available by pre-order. Access is narrow but manageable. In immediate proximity, there's a camping outfitter, including caravans and motorhomes.
