Camping Rødhus Klit

I have been coming here since my first year of life. This place is simply a dream. Each pitch is surrounded by a hedge so that no one can see into each other's area. It is located in a beautiful natural landscape that offers a certain tranquility. Additionally, the beach can be reached over a beautiful dune landscape in 800 m. The sanitary facilities, while a bit dated, are always very clean. Simply a beautiful campsite.

The site is nestled in the unique landscape of Jammer Bay. Those who love nature and can endure peace will feel perfectly at home here. The plots are well-defined from each other and are very generously sized. On level ground, hedges and bushes serve as natural boundaries. The sanitary facilities are very clean and also offer plenty of space. The main sanitary building is a wooden house in Scandinavian style, with showers, toilets, and washbasins separated for men and women. Additionally, there is a kitchen with 2 stoves, an oven, and kettles. There are also smaller sanitary containers distributed throughout the site, which are kept clean as well. However, the real attraction is the surrounding landscape. From the site, you walk about 10 minutes through the beautifully stunning dune landscape to reach the glorious beach. The sunsets viewed from the dunes are spectacular. The nature here is still absolutely intact. Insects, birds, wildlife, and with a bit of luck, you might spot a small snake as well. From here, you can directly start hiking or drive to another starting point. For example, one of the last primeval forests (Vildmosen) is not far away. Those looking for Scandinavian city flair can quickly reach Aalborg, the main municipality of North Jutland. A visit here is also worthwhile. Although you can buy fresh bread and a few other items in the small camping shop, you should have a vehicle. The nearest supermarket is about 8 km away. A bit far on foot. The operators are dedicated and passionate about their work. Very, very nice and friendly. We have seldom seen such a beautiful site. However, we do not like the highly-rated 5***** sites with all the flashy amenities and posh behavior at all.

We felt very comfortable. It's a pity that you can't rent a caravan on-site. Otherwise, we would have come back this year.

The site is particularly characterized by the well-maintained growth (pine bushes) that separates the generously cut plots from each other, and the very friendly operators. The sanitary facilities are clean, but somewhat simple (two solid sanitary buildings and two sanitary containers). Furthermore, the site features a lovingly designed barbecue area, cooking, dishwashing, and washing facilities, as well as a large, beautiful playground. Children can move safely around the site, as gravel paths contribute to slow car traffic and pedestrian crossways run through the area. Signs for child-friendly orientation mark the various paths with pictures so that even non-readers can find their holiday home again. Daily necessities can be purchased in the site's own shop, and fresh rolls and bread are available every day. The place itself consists only of holiday homes and a holiday home complex. Shops (including a bakery) can be found in the neighboring town of Blokhus. The site borders a nature reserve with forest and heath landscape, where extensive hikes can be undertaken. Geocachers also find numerous opportunities in this area. After the summer high season, the site appears quite lonely. Families looking for contact with children should possibly align their visits with the Danish holidays. All in all, a beautiful and well-maintained site.
