Camping Riccione

Right at the entrance, it was a scam, payment in advance... We insisted on a tour... and drove on.

If you like it particularly loud, you should come here. The campsite is located between the railway tracks with freight traffic of a busy street, and just a few meters under the approach path of Rimini Airport (planes so close you can touch them). For motorsport fans, the international racetrack Misano World Circuit is nearby; we were lucky and could listen to the motorsport world championship live. Daily, the number of usable toilets decreased, and generally, cleanliness left much to be desired. There was no soap and rarely toilet paper. In the 70s, it must have been very nice here; you get the feeling of a time travel. The children’s pool was initially dirty and then cleaned. The playground was aging. The camping spaces were large and well laid out. Many trees, nice grass, many water stations. The path to the beach was top-notch, and the restaurant was delicious.

Finding a good campsite in southern Italy during the peak season without prior booking is almost like winning the lottery. On the way, we discovered the campsite in Riccione using the ADAC camping guide. Since the site is not directly on the beach, we hoped to still get a spot there. Indeed, we were lucky. And we were surprised: We found very clean and well-maintained sanitary facilities as well as large, clean pitches. The fact that more Italians than other nationalities were present did not bother us at all; instead, it was a nice, enjoyable experience. Very pleasant was also the little shuttle that transports guests of the campsite free of charge, reliably, and all day long until late at night to the beach about 200 meters away and to the city center. The campsite is highly recommended (or should it have stayed more of a secret tip?).

The site is located directly on the beach. There is a small supermarket in front of the site as well as a snack bar and a restaurant. The staff at the site are all very friendly. The sanitary facilities are acceptable. From tents to large motorhomes, there is space for everyone. From the site, you can make great excursions. It takes five minutes by car to get to the city. We have already been there for the third time and will go back again.
