Camping Poroholma

There are no special washing areas for brushing teeth, blow-drying hair, etc. Instead, there are separate individual showers and single toilets with a small hand wash basin, which is unsuitable for brushing teeth. Who wants to brush their teeth, shave, or wash their face in the toilet? From Finnish campsites, one is used to having nice barbecue areas. Instead, there was a measly gas grill located near the toilets and showers.

Well-located campsite with a very nice beach with a beach bar, sauna, and several small restaurants.

The place is completely overbooked. The spots are not parceled out, but are assigned randomly and mixed up, really placed in all directions, and also not in the same direction, with caravans next to RVs and everything so close that you are completely parked in. Not positioned on a level surface either; we were in the second row by the lake, and in front of us stood a 9-meter caravan thick and fat sideways. The ground is sloped and crooked, our ramps were not sufficient. Neither our neighbor nor we could extend the awning; instead, there was only a 50 cm distance between our camping table and that of the neighbor. There can be no talk of a clear view, nor good air, as our neighbors are both heavy smokers. We have never been so packed in before. Especially in Corona times, one would have wished for something different. Instead, regarding Corona, it is pointed out that all RVs should please use their own toilet/shower. Why then is the space being made so incredibly tight and full? Clearly, it's all about the money here. Euro 39 per night and zero return service. Let's get out of here - we left the very next morning.

Near the small town of Rauma, located by a small fjord-like bay of the Baltic Sea, one finds the Poroholma campsite. We were there before the official season opening, but since you can also book the parking spot online, this was not a problem at all. Even outside of the season, the site manager took care of us immediately, showed us all the facilities, and pointed out the free choice of pitch. We could easily cater to our need to park right by the water (often contrary to German regulations). The campsite includes: clean sanitary facilities (partly accessible for disabled guests), sauna, playgrounds, water slides, washrooms, several restaurants. A supermarket is within walking distance, and the famous old town of Rauma (definitely worth a visit!!!!) is reachable within a few minutes of driving. If you're looking to relax while passing through or on a yearly holiday, this is the perfect spot.

Very beautiful campsite located on the East Coast with super friendly staff. Dog-friendly! Great and varied lunch buffet. Great excursion opportunity to take the "locomotive" to Rauna.
