Camping Playa de Poniente is located around 50 km south of Grenada on the outskirts of the small harbour town of Motril on the Spanish coast. It is only a short distance from the wide sandy beach via the coastal road. The total of 202 pitches suitable for caravans and motorhomes on the 2.4 hectare site are divided by shady trees. There is an electricity connection on all pitches. Guests can use the Wi-Fi free of charge for 20 minutes a day; the service is available all day for an additional charge. As there are also barrier-free toilets and showers, people with limited mobility also feel at home. At the family-friendly campsite, personal hygiene is a pleasure in the modern children's medical centre. If you cook for yourself, you can buy the ingredients from the supermarket and store them in a hire fridge if you wish. The barbecue area and cosy restaurant are popular with holidaymakers. The restaurant spoils guests with Andalusian home cooking, fresh seafood and grilled dishes. Families love to romp around all day on the gently sloping sandy beach or meet up in the lovingly designed playground. They can also cool off in the pool area at the heart of the campsite. Sports enthusiasts can really get into shape on the multi-purpose and tennis courts. There is also the opportunity to try out the trendy sport of paddle tennis or hire a canoe or bike.

If you are interested in the traditions of the Andalusian coast, plan a sightseeing tour through Motril. The south of the province of Grenada looks back on a long history of agriculture, which the sugar cane museum provides information about. In the factory, some of which is still active, visitors can learn interesting facts about the cultivation and production of sugar. Culture vultures can also enjoy the 7-kilometre drive to Salobreña. The castle with its crenellated walls can be seen from afar, perched on a hill overlooking the sea. Just a few kilometres away, the caves of Nerja are another highlight.
