Super friendly staff, everything very clean and well maintained. The sanitary buildings are all 1+. There is 1 mango, and that should be discussed with the mayor. The street that the CP shares is a racetrack day and night and dangerous for life!! We had to listen to the roaring engines every night.

The family-run campsite is very nice and located in a wonderful bay at Lake Orta! We were able to enjoy two weeks in our tent as a five-member family - despite having a small child (2 years old). The staff is very friendly and capable, always helpful. The access to the lake, including a jetty and raft, is great for children to jump in! It's a shame that all the motorboats are not allowed to park further out or even in the bay! The sanitary facilities are good, but hygiene during the day can sometimes be lacking! The cleaning staff could be a bit better distributed throughout the day to perform their cleaning tasks, which would likely help. Just like the waste managers, who check multiple times a day.

We spent 4 days at this site with the motorhome. Very nice pitches on the terraces with a great view of the lake and Sacro Monte. Sanitary facilities are adequate and spotlessly clean. However, there are still campers who have no idea about cleanliness and consideration. Always very friendly staff. Mini-market and restaurant are cheap but good. Short distances to the sights. Be careful with children on a short stretch of road. We did not find the noise from the adjacent road and the railway disturbing. We would gladly come back.

Almost everything was perfect!

We booked the caravan for two weeks. We were welcomed very friendly and the caravan was immediately pulled up to the top level with the tractor. The site is beautifully landscaped with the terraces, and you also have your peace, as long as the lower road and the upper train don’t disturb. The beach is safe and easily accessible through the tunnel. Unfortunately, this is far too small for the size of the site. With a dog, you have to come early in the morning or late in the evening, otherwise not everyone feels comfortable. The small market is sufficiently stocked, and the pizza at the bar is good. Unfortunately, in our opinion, the sanitary facilities are not clean, which might be due to the cleaning only being done once in the morning, as it is too little for the number of campers. Perhaps it is also due to the guests who do not leave everything clean. In any case, we were glad that we had our own toilet with us. Otherwise, the site is very well located for day trips or other activities.

2 plots, one directly by the lake, the other above the street. Very well maintained, plots by the lake are a bit cramped.

More info about Camping Orta
Surrounded by greenery and hills and only marginally touched by civilisation, the Orta campsite is a magical, unspoilt spot right on Lake Orta. Pure relaxation awaits nature lovers in comfortable rental accommodation and spacious pitches.
Back to nature on Lake Orta
A green barrier of hills separates the natural idyll of Lake Orta from the much larger Lake Maggiore to the east. Nevertheless, it can be reached in just twenty minutes by car from Verbania. Its western shore is steep and untamed, while on the eastern shore, 1.5 km from the fairytale town of Orta San Giulio on a little-used coastal road, the Orta campsite welcomes families, nature lovers and individual travellers on a tree-shaded 3.5 hectare site directly on the lake. There are 80 pitches and 18 rental accommodations. The site is open from March to December and has a grocery shop, snack bar and restaurant. Children can have fun in the children's playground, but will also love the 10 metre long pebble beach with sunbathing area and bathing platform. There is a boat slip for launching your own boats into the water. Skippers can also use a jetty with moorings. Dogs are of course allowed. The public bus stops just 100 metres from the campsite. Guests can walk to Orta San Giulio and visit Piazza Mario Motta, which is surrounded by historic patrician houses. The Palazzo della Comunità is worth a visit for its murals. Boats regularly set sail for the picturesque Isola San Giulio, which is completely covered in old buildings. In the north of the lake near Omegna, the Alessi outlet shop offers designer kitchenware.
