Simple site, ideal for a visit to Nazare
Simple, but well-kept facility. The sanitary facilities are aging but clean. A common problem in Portugal is the small pitches of about 50 sqm, which are often heavily sanded. Arrived today, the site is really not suitable for caravans. Everything is sloped and steep. We just parked in a motorhome space. The sanitary facilities have seen better days. Good site, underrated with 2 ★! 3 - 3.5 ★ would be okay!
The campsite has everything a camper needs. Toilets and showers are sufficiently available. The site is partially under trees and offers enough sun protection in summer. The price per night for 2 people of around €22 in the low season is okay.

The campsite in Nazare is very large and offers many pitches. The majority of them are not divided into sections and are hidden under pine trees. Well-equipped campsite with pool
On the edge of the popular Portuguese seaside resort of Nazaré, Camping ORBITUR Vagueira welcomes families, water sports enthusiasts and those seeking peace and quiet. As the campsite is located in a pine forest, natural shade is guaranteed on most of the pitches. Holidaymakers can relax by the fenced-in pool and take a refreshing dip in between. There is also a separate pool for children. The playground is right next to it. The campsite's extensive leisure facilities include outdoor fitness equipment, a common room with table football and video games as well as a multifunctional sports field. Snacks and food are available in the mini-market and snack bar.
Beach and traditions in the holiday region of Nazaré
The nearby beach of Nazaré is known far beyond the Portuguese borders as a hotspot for surfers. The waves off the coast are up to 20 metres high. If you want to learn to surf while camping in Portugal, the water sports schools are the right place to go. Old traditions are still alive in Nazaré: at the harbour you can still see fisherwomen in traditional costume receiving the rich catch. A ride on the Nazaré Funicular rack railway offers a unique view. Since its opening in 1889, it has connected the beach with the higher district of Sitio.
