We were traveling with the Bullycamper towards Cherbourgh and found here a perfect overnight spot. Located in the middle of an oak forest, very quiet, but not too far from the highway. The sanitation facilities are a bit dated, but adequate: no unnecessary division into m/f/x, large enough and clean. No restaurant, but a small bar where we could drink a beer in the evening. Awakened in the morning by the song of blackbirds and reed buntings, we were able to continue our journey. For smaller motorhomes and people who do not value luxury but love nature, this is a very nice spot.

The campsite mainly consists of mobile homes from permanent campers, there are only a few pitches, some of which are quite small. The operators keep chickens and apparently several roosters that hold a perpetual concert. The power supply is so weak that it barely suffices for the basic needs of the caravan. I couldn't use my Nespresso machine. The fuse would blow every time. Fortunately, the electricity boxes covered in cobwebs are open, so you can push the switch back up yourself. Although the campsite is in the woods, there is no access nearby, so you have to take the dog for a walk in the morning along the main road. Regarding the town: the direct center has about 10 interesting buildings, the rest is largely shabby and neglected. Next to the remnants of the old monastery, the creatively designed traffic islands are still the best! I wouldn't go there again!

The sanitary facilities are "unisex," meaning there are no separate areas for men and women at the sit-down toilets. However, these are equipped with a toilet seat. For men, there is a section with urinals. There is also the only handwashing sink with a liquid soap dispenser right next to the urinals. It is not pleasant for a woman to wash her hands when a man is using the urinal right next to her. The washrooms are cleaned very thoroughly in the morning and at noon, but unfortunately, the toilets are again splattered with feces by the evening. An additional cleaning in the evening would be sensible and necessary. We had reserved a specific plot for 3 weeks more than 2 months before our vacation. When we arrived at the site, we were received at the reception by a temporary worker who, apart from French, spoke only a few words of English. She compensated for this with Google Translator to facilitate check-in. The next surprise came quickly, our reserved plot was taken and the reservation was not found. When we asked how such a thing could happen, we were told that the site was fully booked. EXCUSE ME??? We were assigned a small plot between the pool and the sanitary house and had to spend a night there until the reserved plot became free the next afternoon. I can’t imagine if the plot had been occupied for a longer time. Upon addressing the owner of the site the next day, nothing happened. An apology would have been appropriate here. Throughout our vacation, the temporary worker was also not very personable; I can only describe the behavior as arrogant. When confirming the reservation, we were given a total price. This is also found on the price list as "Forfait cure". Upon departure, the owner no longer wanted to know about this and charged the regular price but gave a discount, and the first night was free... Tired of disputing, I paid this higher price. However, I recommend notifying in advance before arriving at this campsite to ensure that you actually get the booked site as well as the announced price. This should be a matter of course, but here it is necessary!!! Otherwise, the other staff was very nice and friendly; there was nothing to complain about. During the day, work is done on the site with very loud (combustion) motor-driven machines (motor scythe, leaf blower, hedge trimmer) for hours. However, there is quiet time at noon, after which it resumes. At night, there is *absolute* silence on the site. However, the site has several roosters that take their duties very seriously from 4 am onwards, as well as during the day. They roam freely on the entire site with the hens, as do the estimated 5-10 cats belonging to the owner. You must like animals if you stay at this site, as they also come onto the campers' plots. For us, this was not an issue, but anyone with allergies should avoid this campground. Next to the reception building is a kind of garden. There is the only place where you can access Wi-Fi. However, the garden furniture there is a preferred resting place of the hens and is soiled with droppings. Unfortunately, cleaning is only done sporadically. You should look beforehand to see where you sit.
