Camping Mauterndorf

Great area. Super nice staff with a super boss. We have known this place for a few years. Just everything is tip top.

The site is beautifully laid out and built to a four-star standard. And, very important: there is absolutely nothing to complain about regarding the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities. The situation is different when it comes to site maintenance and upkeep. The grass surface (you can't really call it lawn) is neglected and mowed far too infrequently. There are holes in the doors of the service building from former fittings, there are towel hooks with torn-out screws, and fallen toilet brushes lie on the floor and are not reattached. The mini store closes at 11 AM. If you want to maintain a four-star rating and charge correspondingly high prices, you really have to put in the effort and keep everything in proper condition. At the moment, I consider three stars to be appropriate.

Everything is great, well-maintained. Great parking spot also very close to the ski lift. I have to agree with Marie's post. Apparently, gray water is being drained. At night it freezes and then it smells very bad. Unpleasant. But that is due to the campers. Regrettable.

… there are many motorhomes that simply drain their wastewater in the winter, which creates a thick layer of ice. Additionally, this ice layer stinks terribly. For example, when a child falls, hands and clothes smell absolutely disgusting from all the frozen wastewater. Ideally, you have to store the shoes outside, otherwise the entire caravan smells of the outdoor wastewater. We have been here often, and we actually like everything else very much, but due to the stench, one has to consider whether to look for an alternative next year. What a shame!!

I really liked this place. Very nice reception, top facilities with pool, wellness area, massage and much more. Bread roll service in the shop with direct breakfast options. The restaurant "Schialm" is an absolute recommendation!

Spent five days at the campsite in August 2021 and were very dissatisfied. Despite booking early, we were assigned the worst pitch. Only upon request did we get a slightly better one, even though many other better spots were available. Since we were in a motorhome without a car and the weather was bad, we wanted to leave by bus. The reception was not very informative about the bus connections and didn't have a bus schedule available, nor were they really eager to help us. Therefore, we cannot recommend this site for campers without their own car. There is a small kiosk with a bread roll service and some beverages at very inflated prices.
