Camping Markádia

At the beginning of March, we stayed here for 2 nights. It’s a wonderful spot in the midst of cork oaks. The freedom of choosing your own spot and the rule of maintaining a 10-meter distance from the next guest is perfect for enjoying peace and intimacy. In terms of logistics, there are some things that could be improved here, but in return, you gain nature and tranquility. It’s a shame we have a travel plan, or we would have stayed longer. But one thing is clear, we will come back and stay longer next time.

The location of this place is indeed optimal. You can hardly get more peace and nature in an incredibly spacious area directly by the reservoir. The operator's rule to maintain a distance of at least 10 meters when choosing a campsite from the next camper pays off. There are plenty of shade-giving trees. There is a small shop where you can also order fresh rolls, and a small restaurant is also available. WLAN is only available near the restaurant or reception, but as an alternative, there is a very good telecommunications connection. The nearest shopping options are in Ferreira do Alentejo, and due to the distance, purchases should be well planned. For this peace, idyll, and view of the lake, we accepted the price, which may be slightly above the average for comparable sites in the area.

Beautifully located, spots directly at the (traffic) lake, good access to bathing areas, easy to launch a boat, terraced ground, large trees provide shade. Small supermarket. Restaurant nearby (not visited). Friendly reception. Uncomplicated access. Sanitary facilities a bit run down, toilets and showers clean - regularly cleaned. The site is highly recommended for quiet, relaxing days.

Value for money is not right. much too expensive for what it offers. Wi-Fi only available at the restaurant until 19:00, afterwards only at the reception. In today's world, internet is important. that's why we did not stay.

It is a beautiful and peaceful camping park. Adorned with mimosa trees and the most beautiful view of the water. The facilities are well kept and clean. There’s a store where you can find basic products in case you forgot something. I definitely would recommend a stay at Markádia :-)
