Camping Mar Azul

Anyone wanting to stay here longer needs a motorized vehicle. It just isn't possible without one. Next shop is about 20 minutes on foot. Interesting places/cities can only be reached by car. Surrounding the campsite are only greenhouses/plastic. The campsite is somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The beach consists of pebbles and dirt and dogs... But the campsite manager can do nothing about that. Sanitary facilities are fine and clean. Restaurant is a better fries stand. Restaurants in the next village, but we haven't tested those. Permanent campers are, as often, very annoying. The campsite is okay for 1-2 nights. How one can stay here for weeks or months is a mystery to us. Oh yes: The staff is friendly and helpful.

The approach to the campsite shocked us. Only plastic greenhouses. The campsite is nice and clean. Friendly people at the reception. Balerma doesn't really need to be seen. The beach is stony and it smells like dog pee. Full of winter residents. Restaurant is for German tourists. We left because all day and also at night, "bangs" were fired in the greenhouses. We wouldn't make the long journey again.

The place is separated by a street at the beach between huge greenhouses. Most plots are only about 70 square meters and are too small for today's camping vehicles. Next to the camper, there's usually not enough room to fully extend the awning, so you sit in the narrow strip between the vehicle and the hedge. Above most plots, a green sunshade is stretched, which is bad for satellite antennas. Good free Wi-Fi. The sanitary facilities are aging but clean. The restaurant mostly serves small senior portions at prices where one could expect a decent portion. The mini shop has pre-baked baguettes for 70 cents in the morning, and no other bread selection. The staff is nice. The surroundings are a disaster, with huge areas of greenhouses, otherwise nothing apart from the nearby town of Balerma with 1 supermarket and few shops and some restaurants. However, it has a beautiful long beach promenade. The beach there is pebbly, and in the area of the campsite, there are many dogs on the beach; also, there are many dogs on the campsite, as some campers now come with 2 or 3 dogs, simply too much constant barking. The pool even has a disabled lift next to the stairs. Conclusion: In the winter half-year, it's a retiree space with about 80% German campers on mostly small plots where I would never stay for long. Extremely many dogs.

The site is well-maintained, the sanitary facilities are also good, supermarket is okay as well. Beach across the street (albeit a pebbly beach) and the surroundings are really dreary, there's nothing nice to see (you could just as well camp in an industrial area of any city). A large and efficiently laid out site with shelter nets (sun protection) and no separation of the pitches, meaning campers are close to each other, which is more suited for sociable camper friends who want to interact with all their neighbors 🤤 square, practical, good. On our tour of Andalusia, the least beautiful site.

Very clean place. Baguette all day. Small restaurant and pool on site. Ideal for overwintering.

Well organized place mainly for snowbirds in the wintertime when we were there. Nice pitches with electricity and water on every site. Very clean and efficient facilities. Beach across the street. Pool on site. (maintenance during our stay) Surroundings a bit desolate. Small town nearby, coastal town with boardwalks and marina a bike trip approximately 12km away.

The place itself is really nice. The staff is very friendly. Everything is very clean and tidy. Unfortunately, no one here speaks German. The surroundings are not very good, rather quite dreary. The sea is less than 5 minutes away. However, one must like natural beaches. All in all, one can have a vacation here.
