Luminoso Camping

A great, clean campsite right by the sea at fair prices, with a wonderful beach. There are private, clean toilets and showers, washing machines, a bar, wifi. Every morning the baker's van comes with bread and croissants, and fruits, vegetables, and meat are sold by local suppliers right at the site. The only downside: there isn't much to see or do around. We were there in early October and most places were already closed, but a pizza delivery service saved us.

3 winters, 16 months and never again Luminoso. The unfortunately annually changing staff was always friendly and helpful. But the fish is known to rot from the head down. The bosses have their close circle of friends who enjoy complete freedom on the premises. Winter guests who defend themselves, who compare the advertising with the actual state, who complain about the condition of the private beach, are treated like scum. The handling of the 'private' toilets does not match the advertising. Last highlight: The price increase of 36%, which was communicated to regular customers who had already reserved in January only in mid-September, with the booking request. Perhaps not legally, but morally speaking, this is fraud towards the guest. Unfortunately, one cannot give MINUS 5 stars here.

Although the campsite is well organized (fresh bread arrives daily, vegetables/fruits and fish/meat are available three times a week upon order) and the toilets and showers were new and clean, we unfortunately have to deduct points. I forgot to show my ADAC card at check-in and showed it retrospectively after 2 days. Of course, it is at the discretion of the campsite operator to grant the discount or not. One way or another, I was very disappointed when I was informed that I have a contract with them and they could not accommodate me, thus the management denied the reduction. I have had the ADAC card for years and this has never happened to me before. Until now, they were satisfied to see it at check-out. 2nd point deduction. The rental car is really very expensive at €81.00 per day. We paid this amount nowhere else during our entire road trip, and I had already complained about it on site. We noticed that the water takes a long time to get warm, even when rinsing, which causes extreme water waste if every guest does it. We were told that they would look into this matter and increase the temperature so that warm water would come faster. Next time, we will probably choose one of the neighboring campsites if we travel to this part of Sicily again. The pitches are large, hard ground and shaded with plastic canopies.

Our first impression after a trip through Calabria: finally a clean campsite - and we were not disappointed! Sanitary facilities well maintained. Campsite well maintained. WiFi must be paid for. Electricity not well secured. Directly at the beach - great for swimming - with campsite-owned sun loungers. The site is often used by long-term campers for wintering. Owners very engaged, offering affordable rental vehicles. German-speaking reception. Located outside, so you'll need a vehicle to go shopping or, which is very positive: a fish, meat, and vegetable vendor comes directly to the campsite several times a week. Baker daily. Conclusion: highly recommended!

Well-maintained camping by a beautiful sandy beach. Sanitary facilities are top-notch with private sanitary cabins. Nice places in the nearby area. One must look past the garbage dumps at the roadside.

Friendly staff, private toilets, showers are continuously cleaned, drinking water at all connections, unfortunately no hose connections. Car rental is also possible by the hour, the site is right on the beach and everything is extremely clean and well-kept, it can't get any better. Bread roll delivery with a large selection at 08:00 and 09:00. A few hose connections would be desirable to be able to fill fresh water on the site with the hose. But that's complaining at a high level, we will definitely come back!

The place is not only clean and beautifully laid out. There are spacious pitches, well-maintained sanitary facilities, a toilet for every pitch, and very friendly staff. The cabins are also well-equipped and a great alternative to hotels, motorhomes, or caravans. However, the best part is the small bay. There is direct access to the beach, which offers fine sand and clear water, and if you're lucky, you might snag a pitch with a direct view of the sea. Overall, suitable for everyone!
